The player is Clyde Wijnhard, Leeds purchased him from Willem for £1.5m in 1998. Leeds sold him to Huddersfield in 1999 for £750k, he was their top scorer in his first season scoring 16 goals.

Before the start of the 2000 season he was nearly killed in a car accident and did not play football for well over a year and has just returned to playing for Huddersfield again in January, I think he has scored a couple of goals since he returned.

As far as the worst Leeds signing, I think Tomas Brolin takes some beating. £4.5m (in 1995 that was a lot of money) 25 apps. 4 goals, free transfer 7 months later!

That Beuchamp bloke the hammers signed was kept outside Harry Redknackers office whiler his agent sorted out his wages,ect,teh agent stitched him up big time.......He did not want to leave Oxford but they forced him out as they found out that he was having a relationship with an underaged girl,not the "girlfriend" that was interviewed by the newspapers at the time.............mind you who would want to drive from Oxford to East London every day.......have you ever done it ? it`s a nightmare,can take up to 4 hours.........8 hours possibly travelling a day......er no thanks..............worst signing the hammers ever made was Scott Mean from Bournmouth,bought him,he wrecks knee second day of training,off for a year,3 weeks into comeback they sell him to .........Bournmouth,3 months later Bournmouth say he is back to his best,put him up for sale...........guess who buys him.......thats right West Ham............where is he now,plays for a pub team in the Sussex 3rd division,when he can be bothered in between modeling and acting assignments !
