Klinsmann calls for Vogts
by Mark Kendall - created on 27 Feb 2005

Germany boss Jurgen Klinsmann has called on the German Football Federation (DFB) to bring Berti Vogts into the national set-up as soon as possible.

Klinsmann wants to see the former Scotland coach installed as technical director and chief scout.

Vogts has admitted he is interested in the position, but has told the DFB he has no interest in the job if, as currently proposed, the role starts in 2006.
Klinsmann has now called for the national association to stop their stalling and get Vogts on board immediately.

"(The DFB) squandered much time in the past failing to set up professional structures," Kilnsmann told Bild am Sonntag.

The former Tottenham striker played under Vogts during his time as Germany manager, and was even appointed captain of the 1996 team that won the European Championship in England under Vogts.
