View Full Version : Hello from Perth, home of the all-conquering Glory!!

G'day, I am answering an SOS from an Oz soccer site (back-of-the-net.com) that was after more Aussie soccer fans to contribute to your site..

So HELLO!

Here in Perth, we live in the most isolated city in the world (around 2,500 km from nearest major city). We therefore very rarely get away fans coming to Perth Glory's home matches.

However, as we are nearly always drunk at home matches (we can buy beer inside Oz stadiums!!), our terraced area (The Shed) has split itself into 3 sections (Left Side, Middle and Right Side). Seeing as there is no-one else to take the piss out of, the 3 sides of the Shed basically taunt each other and try to intimidate each other into a fight for the whole 90 minutes.

This has been happening for the 6 years of the Glory's existence, and will continue to do so until Melbourne and Sydney fans get off the dole and come over for the away games.

Why aren't we watching the match? Well, we are 11 points clear at the top and romping our way to silverware in May.

Hope to hear from yez!

the memberlist shows that there are now about 8-9 aussies in here- although i think there are only a few of us who are active.
Welcome anyway, middle of the shed, it s pity you 're a glory supporter though. Go Souths!

basically we get teams from say 5 different countries. Woozer puts up the weekend's club fixtures in each of the countries. Each member of your team predicts the results for each of the matches. 3 points for being exactly right and 1 for correct result. Add up all the players scores on ur team and thats it :)

Cool, that sounds good to me...

The English won't have a clue about our NSL.

In fact, 95% of the Australian public don't have a clue about the NSL... :no

Well I know how it all works and I have led Australia to World Predictions glory at Football Forums. I will be competing and hopefully the other Aussie members here will to. If we have four, great, otherwise I'll recruit however many is needed.
