Hello lads,
To the user Mertesacker, or anyone well informed. Is it true that the German media caught former Hannover manager Richard Moar receiving money from Julian De Guzmán's agent? Apparently as a "compensation" for the Canadian moving to Deportivo La Coruna.
Any links where I could check it out? Bild? Kicker?
Thanks very much,
Juan

No.
The thing is that Moar came to 96 in 2002 from La Coruña.
He then left in July 2004 after much critism about his transfer policy.
He also failed to extend DeGuzman's contract back then.
Many people in Hannover now believe that he didn't extend his contract on purpose because he knew he would return to La Coruña and wanted Julian there.
That's why people are pretty upset and Hannover's chairman Martin Kind has publicly stated that he won't ever talk to Moar again.

Well that's only partially true. What about Moar receiving an envelope from Mr. Linse (De Guzman's agent) right in the Hannover airport?
Fact or fiction?

I don't really get what you mean with "compensation"?
Do you mean a "reward"?
The press only reported that Moar, de Guzman and his agent Robert Linse met at the airport in Hannover on the 9th of february.
Well, Linse is de Guzman's agent so I don't see why the fact that La Coruna's sporting director might have recieved an envelope from him would be strange????

Well, first of all Richard Moar is not La Coruña's sport director -he is an advisor to President A.C. Ledoiro but is responsible for bringing in De Guzman to the Galician club.
Secondly, of course it's bad and rotten that Linse / De Guzman gave money to the La Coruña official as a "reward". It's unethical, and it should probably be the other way around -a player coming from a Bosman situation usually gets a compensation fee, but he should not give money to club directors.
By the way, I really like Per Mertesacker as a player, good potential, size and not too sloppy despite de 1,96 mts. I especially like how he functions in sinergy with Dariusz Zuraw.
Cheers,
Juan
