i'll try to do this every week if the demand stays for it...

Bayern Munich, hungry for silverware this season, made a good start to their Champions League campaign downing Partizan Belgrade 3-0 in their first leg qualifier.

But Bayern, like Manchester United kept from any trophies last season, put thier past aside and went ahead by one thanks to a left-footed strike by Michael Tarnat in the 22nd minute.... Two minutes later Bayern keeper Oliver Kahn, was forced to save a 20 metre shot from Zvonimir Vukic...... Jens Jeremies doubled Bayern's lead in the 70th minute, the goal set up from a brilliantly placed freekick taken by Mehmet Scholl.
Claudio Pizarro scored the final goal in the 78th minute off a great pass by michael Ballack

Linke comes back to international football after retiring... after meeting coach rudy voeller during the week Thomas Linke said he will play in the upcoming euro 2004 tournamet... taking back his decision to retire from international football to spend time with his new son..

Rudy Voeller gives the nod to youngsters... the unvieling of the german squad for the upcoming friendly included 23 year old Arne Friedrich (hertha Berlin) and new striker for Leverkusen Beirofka, among two other young players... rudy voeller has said he doesnt want a '98 world cup when germany's team were mostly over 30, he said he's getting the youth ready for 2006..

feel free to add anything new you hear (i'm not that up to date at times)

he refused the contract at the last minute ..then 4 hours later wolfsburg had him signed

there are no reports of what happened or if he had spoken to Vfl wolfsburg previously

but true jere, he will help some of thier younger midfielders learn the finer ponts of the position, and his great playmaking vision will add creativity...not to mention his gritty style will bring up wolfsburg in that aspect.. they are known too be a little "tackle shy"

Bierhoff signs for Chievo Verona

It’s back to the Serie A! Last night Oliver Bierhoff signed for one season at Chievo Verona. “Great surroundings and a successful team I’m looking forward to play for,” the former German international and Italian authority said in anticipation of his year in Verona. “Chievo plays in the Uefa Cup and I’m really impressed of their success in the last season.I'm ready to go.”
The 34-year-old is currently moving to Munich on a permanent basis and now he has to pack even more of his belongings. He doesn’t need a dictionary, that’s for sure. After spending a couple of years at Ascoli, Udine and Milan he is fluent in Italian. And being a World Cup finalist, he will surely enjoy the 2002/2003 season at Chievo.

BVB Dortmund have not had in win in the first two games of the Bundesliga. Hertha Berlin, and Leverkusen have held the champions and allowed rival contenders Bayern and Schalke to go ahead of the 2002 UEFA Cup runners-up. Leverkusen got a little revenge from BV for the continuation of their nick name Neverkusen. With last years championship coming down to the last few games, German Cup holders Schalke will be happy to be ahead of Byern München by two points. In a suprise Hansa and Bochum share the top with Schalke. For up to date scores go to www.uefa.com .
