Schalke Firm as Bundesliga Favourites

Schalke 04 have firmed as favourites for this season's Bundesliga title (in my books anyway) with a stirling 1-0 victory over a classy wolfsburg outfit in front of another packed crowd at the Arena Auf Schalke. The royal blues, ravaged by injury, were expected to struggle given their recent spate of injuries as well as their new, youthful manager, frank neubarth, who is yet to have been tested at this level. However in true ruhr valley spirit, the boys battled to the end, and were justly rewarded when Sven Vermant's 89th minute strike broke the deadlock, his first ever goal in die bundesliga.
The win catapults them to second in the table, with only minnows Bochum, who won 3-1 at Nurenberg, the only team between Schalke and German league Glory. The Royal Blues are already 2 points clear of their biggest challengers this year, Dortmund, who were held to a 2-2 draw with Hertha and Munich, who had a scoreless draw at Gladbach.
If this trend continues, Schalke will beat these teams by 68 points by Seasons end!!! something that not even i thought of in my wildest dreams!!

a little premature Schalke81, but i like your enthusiasm... they played very well (watched on Fox Sportsworld) wolfsburg looked very good but in the end Schalke was too much...I hope what you say is true, cause two years ago when schalke missed the title by one point all of my friends who are Bayern fans ridiculed me.... I WILL have the last laugh

damn!! you get schalke game on tv!!!! we get some 30 minutes highlights package of all the bundesliga games, a week late, and then either leverkusen/munich or dirtmung games for the most part.
but at least we've started on a positive note, with a lot of pressure on us, and at the same time, bvb, leverkusen, kaiserlautern and bayern all drew which, althought very early into the season, puts a little pressure on them to win a few early games.

Beat the champions by 68 points, no chance in hell.:laugh I do hope Schalke do well, second place. I`m for BV! We have the championship! And we intend on keeping it!

1860 munich..hahaha.. Schalke will do well this year as long as we dont choke under the pressure (like Neverkusen) ... Our players should keep thier heads on the task ahead, and stay focused...... and all the doubters should take note that schalke were only one point away from the league title two years ago, its not totally out of the realm of possibility.......Schalke81 you live down under, how if i may ask did you become a Schalke fan???? a trip to germany??? relatives in germany???just wondering, cause i know 2 people in australia and they say they cant even get bundesliga results over there.. must be hard to be a fan..
