I'm a new member. I've been posting about a week.

I'm an amateur athlete. I run, moutainbike on the weekends (sometimes compete in 5Ks, looking to get into some 10Ks, and mini-marathons, I have my heart set on one day finishing a marathon); I'm taking one day at a time. I enjoy weightlifting 3-4 times a week.

It's been a lot of fun posting here...I hope this Forum grows bigger. I want to wish everyone luck for this years World Cup.

I hope so, its seems like a nice fit. We (Frank Cunha and myself) need a Portugal Forum.

But is been great so far. We are spreading the word. Frank Cunha (my dad) even got Mark to notify the MLS about this site. So look for more posts from across the pond.

Nice to meet you too.

Thanks. Its all easier said than done. I'll keep you posted.
Need to get soccer into that regimine. Right now, dribbling the "football" in front of my drive way is the only time I play.

you're well on your way. Just keep going at your pace. I run with another guy. I run my race, he runs his. The distance/speed will come. I just prefer distance to speed. My father, frank cunha, brought me up that way.
I played full matches, one after another...but i played sweeper, enforcer defense. I wasn't much for making many plays, but I had fun none-the-less.

don't forget, enjoy the run...don't over do it and get fustrated and stop. take time off when your body needs to or you need to. Run when its pleasureable. However, when you run when you're miserable it makes your good runs even better. Running "sucks" but it gives you a great natural high...it's one of the few sports i can think of where the "natural high" comes after you finish.

With my age if I run 2 to 5 miles they have to carry me away.
But Frank III is there every weekend.

You can run 2-5 miles if there's a SuperBock or Sagres at the Finish line.

Bush Jr. says he can run 3miles in 21minutes. Do you bellive him or do you think he's lying. 30 minutes is average for a non-athlete.

I'm doing 5Ks in 23-24. that's 3.1 miles. Not impressive. I used to do it in under 21minutes. I'm more distance now. But Bush, I don't know. Clinton is quick if Monica is at work and she has McDonals waiting for him.

Just ran my 6 mile Palisade trail run this morning around 7:00a.m. It's nice to get back into my running routine. I lost about 6-8 weeks 'caus emy running buddy was trying to get some last season snow boarding in.

I'm running in an Easter Day 5k, should be fun. Hopefully I can work my way up to 11k's and beyond this year, maybe even a biathalon in the fall.

Hopefully, I'll get some mountain biking in before it gets really hot. I'm looking to get into paddling. Due to the high costs of kayaks (they start at US$800 or so and everything (including the seats, paddles, etc) is an option) I don't know if this is the year, yet.
