Since 1997, this has to be R.Carlos. But now i have changed my mind to either Riise or Lahm.
Some may argue that this position is favorable to a left-footed player but Lahm is becoming a player who can control well with both feet. :clap

Defensivly he is not the best, but offensivly he is good. I would say that Ashly Cole is the best.

Lahm is good but but for me there are 2-3 who are still better than he is (Carlos, Zambrotta). Cole is too shaky in defense for my liking. And Lahm is better in offensive than Cole.

Cole, Lahm and Zambrotta have to be the top three and maybe not in that order.

Zambrotta for sure...
Cole is amazing but he's inconsistent... He has spells where he plays horrible and makes so many stupid mistakes... Plus, he has a bad temper which usually gets him into trouble

Yeah, he's great and he's not bad as a CB either. I would say Zambrotta is the best though, closely followed by Roberto Carlos.

Are you stupid or are you just not following any other teams than your owns? Riise has had his best season so far this season... He's certainly up there eventho he might not be THE best.

Hmmm.. can't say that Lahm is the best. He's a good player in his position but there are few players who better him. Lahm is still young and full of strength & speed. His fitness is above human levels. He doesn't dribble.. he out runs his counter players and that's not very brilliant. But in 3-4 years he'll start to lose this edge and then some problems will appear with his style. And after all, he's a right footed player. And I can never name a right footed player to be the best on the left wing.

i think riise is a very very good player. i think he undoubltly is in the top 3. carlos used to be great, lost it a bit now. id put cole up there too, he is brilliant at times, world class.

cole is a very poor defender but quite good at going forward, there's not too many good left backs around right now except Zambrotta, and Laurie Ellis :clap
