confirmed in the WC what many a liverpool fan has known for a long time, he saves himself for england. generally before an england game he takes it easy for liverpool as he doesn't wanna get injured & therefore miss an england game. brazil game topped it off, he played when not fit. he NEVER does that for liverpool. slight niggle he's off (wouldn't wanna miss the next england game now would he?)

very true paisley but i also think he loves playing for england and wanted to play in that game, if he was injured in the same way for us, against a top side, in an important game then i ma sure he would play.

well for 1 he isn't our best player. 2. its not hatred its just pointing out a fact. 3. he's using liverpool as a showcase for his talents before he's off to italy in 2 years & that pisses me off no end.

of course he's gonna be off. when he has 1 year left he won't wanna sign a new deal & we'll sell him. i'd sell him now, cash in while we can. we might start playing some decent footie then. dudek, hyypia & gerrard are more important to liverpool than michael owen.

how many yrs has he got left now then??? I would have thought that most clubs would give anything to have Owen in their side but obviously Liverpool fans don't value him too highly

don't quote me but i think he has 3 years left. u got it spot on mark, ''most clubs''. im not doubting he is a quality player but european player of the year? world's best? if u watched him week in, week out you'd know thats rubbish. some dope would pay £50 million for him though.

liverpools whole game is based around owen and it annoys us that when he is injured we cant really change our style of play.
no one person makes a team but owen is vital to liverpool, but so is the spine of the team. rather have him than fowler, robbie lost that half yard of pace that he had to get away from defenders and he was never going to sign a new deal

robbie never had pace anyway so that didnt matter really. your right he was never gonna sign a new deal because he was never gonna get offered 1. he was forced out with the rest of the 'past'.

your right about that one, but he wasnt suited to our style of play now, and things move on with fowler.
robbe had that yard to knck the ball past a defender then smash it bottom corner, but now with more weight and injuries he has had to change his game.

that's what i'm saying he doesn't suit our style of play now because houllier brought it in to suit owen's style & not fowler's. ah well its done now, God maybe gone but at least we've got Jesus as his replacement! :)
