In my opinion the England v Argentina game in 1998 was one of the best ever.

It had it all.

Dodgy penalty decisions (one per side)

A superb goal (Owen)

A well worked free-kick.

A dodgy sending-off (Beckham)

A resilient fight-back by 10-men England.

A perfectly good winner dissallowed for some unseen foul...

And the nightmare of the penalty shoot-out !!!!

I am glad you mentioned the goal that never was, and it was too - a goal!! The 1966 semi final England v Portugal takes some beating - classic game with 2 classic Charlton goals!!

yeh out of the games I remember from 94 and 98 it's gotta be that one you're right, sol puts the ball in, gets disallowed and he lets them run up the other end and nearly score!!!
