O Sporting assegurou a passagem à final da Taça de Portugal ao derrotar o Marítimo por 3-2, após prolongamento. Uma vitória difícil perante uma equipa que se preocupou sobretudo em defender, tentando levar a eliminatória para desempate na Madeira. Sabry abriu o activo aos 31 minutos, Nalitzis empatou aos 65, o Marítimo voltou a conquistar vantagem a 9 minutos do fim, por Gaúcho, e André Cruz empatou aos 86. João Pinto deu o triunfo ao Sporting aos 3 minutos do prolongamento.

O jogo Sporting - Farense, no domingo às 18 horas, está a mobilizar sportinguistas de todo o País, empenhados em contribuir para o regresso da equipa às vitórias e em participar no processo histórico de despedida do actual Estádio Alvalade. Será a última visita da filial sportinguista de Faro a este Estádio e o primeiro dos sete derradeiros jogos a contar para a Liga. O Sporting está em luta cerrada pelo título, batendo-se ponto por ponto.
