I was just wondering were all the people who were slagging him off under the many anti Rooney threads through the past year calling him overrated, a fat bastard, dirty scouser etc.. Oh thats right your all chanting his name down your local boozers..........you ****in hypocrits.
As i've always maintained from the first time i saw him play at the age of 15 yrs old., he will become the best British player of all time. :USA_Blue

Still think he's a tabloid nightmare waiting to happen.

i was chating his name. but in fairness to myself i always rated him. so im entitled to.
And how many people slagged shearer off, but loved him when he scored for england, its not as if rooneys in the boat by himself.

Build him up to knock him down, typical British press. Hopefully he is being shielded from the Roomania back here and is left to do what he does best.
Also very predictable to see the papers linking him with moves to Chelsea/Man U/Madrid etc. :banghead :banghead :banghead

I've never really doubted or slagged off Rooney ability it's his temprement that annoyed me, anyone who saw how he pretty much ended Steve Vickers career with his first red card will see what i mean.
That said he seems to have kept it largely under control for England so far so hopefully he laerned to control it.

You got it in 1 :clap
As you can see by my name, I'm most defo a Rooney fan. He's great. I rated him before he scored against Seaman, cos of his firery temprement and ablity to beat defenders. I have absoloutely nothing against Everton but I hope he moves. Trouble is, I don't think he's ready for a super big rich club like Madrid or Chelsea and they'd only bench him after a bad game, but he's clearly suffering with the bad players at Everton. It's just such a shame that the intemediate top clubs can't get him. It'd be a great move to Newcastle or Liverpool who can't afford him. If Everton want to cash in I think they should loan him out to one of these clubs and cash in two years down the line double what they would of got if he stagnated at Everton.

Theres more chance of him playing for Tranmere than LFC. Man Utd will be his destination if he leaves.
two words
Sol Campbell :p
Also to add a few more words on, his best mate is Steven Gerrard and if Liverpool sell Owen they'll have the cash to buy Rooney.

Excellent player in my eyes, he has got aload of potential, and cant really see Everton holding onto him. They say they have slapped a £50m price tag on his head, but Chelsea can easily afford that, and with a offer like that I honestly cant see Everton rejecting it.
Just hope Rooney has a excellent game tonight. His only main problem is his temper, so aslong as he keeps a cool head and not get booked, to mark him with a suspention for the Quarter Finals (if we make it.)

I ve always liked Rooney since he scored that stunner against the gooners and have found myself chanting his name with hundreds of others down the boozer, the lad is brilliant and deserves all the plaudits coming his way, well done to him i say.

Its great he's really delivering now. Not many do that at 18. He has left some with egg on thier faces, but lets see if he can win us the competition. We should not have to just hang our hopes on a kid, but the fact we are shows how far he has come.

I mentioned my views on rooney in the united forum the other day.
Wayne Rooney has preformed brilliantly in the three games during euro 2004 and has shown he has the ability to be a class act. He isn't one of the best strikers in europe at the moment in my opinion as he has to prove himself over a longer period of time than he currently has done. He didn't do well enough for everton over the past season to be compared to pele or labelled as one of the best strikers in europe and three games doesnt make him either of them.
He will develop into one of the best strikers in europe in a few years but will only be recognised in my eyes as one of them until he performs more consistantly than he does for everton and over a longer period of time.
He now has an even bigger reputation coming of a very good tournament from himself and now a lot of people expect him to perform like that every week and im sorry but he wont be able to do that. He's 18 years of age for fck sake and theres aspects of his game that need to improve and consistancy is one of them. It will come over the next few years but patience is what is needed by everton fans and the english public. With this expectance on rooney now especially from the media if he performs poorly in a few games they will shoot him down and you will get people who believe what the papers right agreeing with this and spouting sh*t about how he's only an average player. We all have to remember the lad is 18 years of age he's a wonderful talent with a lot of potential and he has to work hard to fulfil that potential. He currently is a good player but far from one of the best in europe.

Good post lad, you sure your only 17?
In regards to the highlighted thing, just look at Owen, he still gets **** now, and has done nothing wrong, his goals speak for themselves, and that is what he should be measured on.

Yep shanks only 17 and not 18 till may but nevermind. Owen will always get sh*t from the media and because of the influence of the media a lot of people agree with them about sh*t that he's past it and he's not what he was when infact he's a better player now than he was two or three years ago in my opinion and just look at his goal scoring record in comparison to how many games last year. It's hard to come back from injury and get back into the routine straight away and people must take this on board. Owen is the best goalscorer in england and easily one of the best strikers in the premiership and will be for years to come. If rooney ends up like owen then im sure he will be very happy with himself yet people on here and elsewhere say it as a bad thing. " He'll end up like owen " If he ends up like owen and has the scoring record that owen has people will still be unhappy because they expect him to score in every single game as they do with owen when its not possible in reality

Not me mate. He still has a lot to prove in the Premiership for me.
According to Everton today, he will NOT be an Everton player - very shortly.

Yes, his international career is really stagnating at Everton. He's only gone and been the best striker of the European Championship. Yes, truly his career is doomed at Everton. All this whinging about a lack of player loyalty in the media is the biggest load of hypocritical waffle I've ever heard. An 18-year-old in no need of a move who loves his home-town club comes on the scene and the media vultures can't wait to see him move to a "bigger club" like Chelsea. Then they wonder why the Premiership is poulated by money-grabbing mercenaries and dominated by three clubs, one of which is an artificial creation born out of swindled Russian tax money.

I agree he has tremendous potential BUT, and its a big BUT - he has not really done anything spectacular in the home league. A couple of great games for England does not make a Pele type of person overnight. I hope for England's sake he goes on to greater things, but I am not getting carried away, I have seen loads of "potential" stars do a runner almost overnight to be enthusiastic about Wayne - yet!
