:??? Artur Jorge the very experience central defender for Sp. Braga will train with Barnsley for a week. Russel Richardson is all excited because is getting a quality defender that only needs playing time. Artur Jorge was sub after he was injury, and was never able to brake into the starting line up for Braga were Roberto Rocha the future Benfica is having a great season. Artur Jorge is 30years old will be teaming with ex V. Setubal Erick Tinker of South Africa. Barnsley is in the 18 place of div one equivalent to portuguese second division.

You probably hear of Artur Jorge the Benfica player of late 60's and 70's.
He is a coach in the Saudi Arabia league. I believe they in first place.
In 1989 he was the coach for Porto that won the European Cup. Ivic did took over for him winning the Cup of Cups and the Intercontinental Cup.
Artur Jorge also took PSG to the french championship. He was coach the Portuguese team that miss the world cup by a goal. The last two world cups Portugal didn't qualify because one goal to Germany and Italy, one point in 1994.

Mark, a step down for the lad, come on, who knocked Man u out of the F.A. Cup whilst they were European Champions (and they had 2 goes at it), I can remember Man U being in the old 2nd Division playing in front of a fraction of the crowds they now get, dont be pulling teams down because they survive in a far smaller catchment area then some of the so called super teams, good luck to the reds if they can pull a signing like that off, we are a well run club with money in the bank and an academy second to none, the only way is forward, good foreign players are not only for the "Big Boys", ask portsmouth.

Artur Jorge experience should be taken into consideration. If gets back to is normal playing he will help save the Barnsley out of relegation. That's is priority. If he is sign to a contract is willing to take his family down to England. He had a couple great seasons.
