Is Cole better than Carrick? Last match I saw was the cup match Chelsea-WHam.. and Carrick was far better than Cole. And Carrick has more length too.

here goes

wright s
mellor

how can u say zamora? he is 23 for gods sake.

As for vaughan and ashton, ashton maybe wait until top level and vaughan hardly gets a game at crewe.

Wayne Rooney of Everton is gonna be big. He's just 17, he's in the England youth setup and is involved with Everton Reserves at the minute. Watch this space.......

Jenas is ace, Cole is ace, Carrick is ace, Chadwick is ace..... and ugly...., Bridge is ace, hard to choose the best. Id probably say joe cole. The future looks promising.

vaughan hardly gets a game at crewe.

:none !!!!

He got into the first team on the 26th December against Walsall, a month a go, he was on the subs bench... he was brought on and since he has kept out a player who played for Liverpool in Europe. He's 18 and he's played about 8 games and after every game the other team have called him a great player. So don't go on that he doesn't get games when he obviously does!

He's better then your average Jenas anyway.

joe cole is a quality player he should be going to Korea/Japan but that might be a bit too excentric

Stephen Schumacher is gonna be a goodun, but Wayne Rooney is making big waves at the mo. To back this up, he scored 2 goals in the FA Youth Cup last night. He's gonna be great, remember where u heard it first.....

Feb 8 2002, 03:42 PM
i think n mellor is better than most of the crewe team and thats justified by him scoring goals for fun for liverpools reserve team. but he isnt near the likes of cole, dunn, defoe carrick terry etc.

I wonder what happened to this young 17 year old :cool

I can't believe how many people mentioned Neil Mellor,he turned out to be one of the worst players ever to play in the Premiership. IMO

Where's this Neil Prince now?

Lancaster City apparently after a spot of research. Went to Torquay in the summer of 2002 before moving on to Lancaster a season after that. Still there as far as I know.

I'm sorry to disappoint people but this was a thread that was started over 3 years ago :woot. The poll was rubbish, Pennant is in prison, JJ is still coming up well and John Terry has been brilliant, Terry and Lampard best 2 England players with Rooney close behind :clap

Doesn't mean he's on the scrapheap just yet though.

he won't get a proper 1st team run till next season though so we'll have to wait a little longer to see how he turns out.

Terry isn't the best centreback in the world! And what sort of ridiculous poll is that? It's like asking 'Who's the worlds best player' A) Ronaldinho B) Jamie Clapham C) Igor Biscan

I have to admit that Terry is the best centre-back in the world but I can't see Sven dropping Campbell or Rio at the back of the english defence. I think its time for a formation switch, 3-5-2

Terry's not got the pace that the very best centre backs have unfortunately :(

He's still been brilliant this season though and he doesn't do much wrong. This thread just goes to show how hard it is to predict who's going to make it and who isn't, a few have been right but half of them have done nothing. 3 years ago when SWP started playing I thought he was absolute wank but he improved every game and I'd say he's turned out better than Pennant and Jenas :)
