Plus Jenas being there, and lots of other young talents.

I thought we were picking up Dawson in the summer.
Dawson would rather join Newcastle as Bobby & Fat fred have already had words with him, his family and his agent when we picked up Jenas.
We have a certain understanding with Forest and have a gentelman's agreement on first refusal on him, this i know for a fact.
We've also given Forest a couple of our youngster to cement our relations even further.
Trust me, both will join the toon, sometime in the future.

Yeah, so with our clubs good report between each other, past dealings and mutual respect i can see both of them heading up north to the toon rather than anywhere else.
I've also heard that your looking into some of our youth players again for the summer, this could also push the deal through, along with Robbie Elliott.

I think we are going all out this season even if we don't get CL.
I think we'll see about 4-5 players coming in, something like Dawson, Reid, Smith, RB, & DMC.
I can see us spending around £20m in the summer, now is the time to take a gamble, the board knows it, bobby knows it, the players know it and the fans certainly know it.
Our wage bill is really low, so is squad places, i can see a few more players leaving us to make way for new blood and of course new avenues of finance are opening up for us all the time ie casino, film, new addidas deal etc...
So:
£8m for Reid & Dawson.
£5m for Smith
£2m for that greek guy who bobby rates really highly.
And someone like Van Bommel since PSV want to sell, he wants to move and Bobby has good connections with the club. The UEFA match against them may sway him to come here, as long as he has a good time and as soon as he sees the ground he'll be stunned. A price of £5m would probably capture his signature.
So thats £20m, plus the sale of one or two others, Bowyer, Lua-Lua, Elliott, release of Bridges, maybe Harper on his way out may generate between £5-8m.

Since xmas NUFC have cut their wage bill, for these players below we only got around £3m in fees, but by not having them here for the 6 months we've saved.
S. Caldwell £8 pw
Dabizas £25k pw
Lua-Lua £15k pw
Cort £20k pw
G. Caldwell £5k pw
Solano £35k pw
Kerr £5k pw
Thats nearly another £3m saved in wages, so a gain of £6m extra to spend.

Just remembered who the player was, Steven Taylor on loan for the season (next).

we will wait and see then, never heard of him. how old is that news?> cos its not really knniears style to do a transfer like that

Just about every Premiership club between 3rd and 10th has been linked with Reid, all i can say is it's a fair bet he'll be in the premiership next season, who with is anyones guess, Liverpool and Newcastle seem to be linked to just about every player on the planet at the moment, and given some of the players Birmingham have been linked with i doubt he'll be coming here either, i think he'll go to someone like Southampton in all honesty.

Never heard of Steven Taylor? Just about Englands most promising defender.
Will be bigger and better than Woodgate & Rio put together, shame Bobby hasn't played him more this season.
Liverpool had a £5m bid rejected not so long ago for him, that's without him even playing a game for the toon.
This is news that i've heard after Chopra's pretty much useless loan move.

we dont need defenders tho. we have enough quality ther even when dawson goes, Morgan will be a colossus there, future england international id like to think, doig, thompson, and des will still be there.
also why sign reid, you already have robert and viana down the left, so why add another left winger?

viana is a central player who plays central-left. what he needs next to him is a solid DMC who plays centre-right. Robert is our only out and out winger at the club never mind left.
Taylor is about ten full games away from being as good as Dawson right now. He's like a Glen Johnson in that respect only Bobby aint got the balls to take a chance on him.

ok fair enough, does seem that at some level we do have this agreement, perhaps a legacy of JJ deal, afterall you let us have Gardner and Beaumont, didnt Beardsley get sacked for letting them go?

Just shows u where all the talent is being nurchered dont it :clap seems like other clubs cant produce their own like Forest do :nono Then when we get them playing like they do the vultures swoop :woot Well we want top dollar for them :salute u aint getting them on the cheap :nono U cant blame players like reid & dawson, even jenas if they want to play top level football :nono What keeps clubs like forest viable is relying on home grown talent :clap bringing them on then letting them go relucantly to bigger clubs cos they have the resources & play in bigger competitions.Forest have a good record of bringing through quality players in the youth academy :clap And again we will do it after reid, dawson have long gone :clap :clap :clap U cant hold back quality players like these 2 they need to play top level footy to improve and grow in stature :clap When they go i'll be wishing them good luck :clap and of course forest can bag some much earned cash to improve our squad :clap
you cant produce decent goalies though

roche is an ok keeper, he just lacks confidence.
unless your referring to the fact we have ex ansfield and county darren "boring" ward, the least charaismatic footballer on planet earth
we have two other notable ones though manic
weaver and the now retired kev hitchcock
ward is alright seeing as he is a mansfield supporter as is walsalls keeper jimmy walker:D
