Get the old firm out of scottish football now!!
They are ruining it.
If they left then we would have a whole new product to sell to the tv stations.
Anyone could win the league.
Different teams could get into europe eaxh year, and there would at least be a chance for the likes of Aberdeen, Killie and Livingston to get into the champions league. The money would be more spread about.
Clubs like partick and latterly possibly Airdrie (if they stay in business) or Ayr (if the 10,000 seater stupid stadium rule is lifted) would then have a chance to gain more cash from this new invigorated scottish premier.
A lot of u english football fans might nit know this but:
* Celgers and Rantic pulled out of the spl tv deal at the very last minute, after 15 months of negotiations, when not once did they mention any reservations about the deal.
* Current spl voting means that any motion can be defeated by a 10 to 2 split. Therefore, only 2 clubs need to be against any motion. The huns and the tims were the only 2 to say no.
Don't tell me they do not have a hidden agenda.
* I have heard that they would be accepted into the english 1st next season, possibly to replace any clubs that may well go bust as a result of the itv digital deal going belly up.
I just hope that they leave for england in the summer, then the rest of scottish football can get on with life.
* Also, its not that we can't beat celtic or anything. We (INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE) have a 100% winning record against the tims. So there.
Cheers.

i say its unfortunate that you have two teams so dominant. but that's only really unfortunate for supporters of the other 10 clubs.
i think it would be detrimental to the champions league if any team other than rangers or celtic were to be in it. but if rangers and celtic move, perhaps another uefa cup place for scotland? i would think sponsorship and revenuew would both decreas dramatically if they were to go as it would really be like england division two.
But i don't see why they would want to move because if they joined england, they would no longer qualify for europe as i doubt they could finish top 6 in english premier.
And i can see how the other 10 clubs are fed up with rangers and celtic in their league, with a strangehold over revenue and voting rights to manipulate their way ,as i am sure there is some collusion between them.
So, i don't really know the solution to be honest with you!!!

To be honest I didnt know how bad the feelings were towards the OF.
So off I boldly went to quite a few SPL forums and lo and behold the majority absolutley hate the OF.
The hatred and vitriol poured onto them is really amazing.
From what I have read the other teams supporters are so totally sick of them and there fans that they are praying the OF "G.T.F" (a Scots saying by the way).
Like I have said before in the SPL threads I think the OF should go elsewhere...or quoting a Hibs fan's posting "Celtic should fuck off to Ireland and Rangers should fuck off to England, greedy bastards" lol

When (no longer if) the old firm leave there won't be much Scottish football left! And as for the UEFA Champions league place, well forget it!!!

How the hell can you say that there will not be much Scottish Football left, the OF are only 2 of 42 teams in the professional leagues.

There will not be left maybe for people outside it who dont care to watch any other games, but i tell you it will be just as good, if not better, for the fans that support any Scottish team except the OF. This is the chance to invite more division one clubs into a top league, maybe a 16 team league.

Plue all you need to do is watch some of the other games in the league and the passion that is there. I am just going to use my team as an example. When Dundee United play Dundee on derby day there is maybe only a crode of aroun 13-14,000 but the atmosphere is great, unlike the OF it is not hatred for the other team it is passion for the game.

I would gladly attend a Dundee derby any day of the week before an OF derby because the atmosphere is alot better.

Sorry for going a wee bit off topic there.

totally agree mate

having been to a lot of dundee derbys myself, the atmosphere is amazing and the passion the teams show is always outstanding!

Having attended a rangers v celtic game last year i would say that it lacks that passion that we have when we have a go at dundee!

i never thought there would be no place for rangers and celtic to go. everyone knew that at the end of the day, the OF would be playing in scotland next year, albeit under different circumstances. but it was good to seee the smaller clubs stand up for their rights.

I don't want them in England, if they do come over then they should start at the bottom.

Yeah they should have to start at the bottom. I'd love to see them struggling and see that they aren ot indestructible.
