Supporters: Fans unite behind the Football League

Both the main National Supporters organisations listed above support the stance taken by the Football League in this dispute. With this in mind we have issued the following 6 point plan to enable Supporters to become active in this dispute.

The FSA & NFFSC have been deliberating over the best course of action to take in this ITV Digital dispute.

We have decided the following action would be easier to arrange and have more impact and would also give everybody concerned a chance to get involved.

1, We would ask all Supporters to write to the directors & Non-executive directors at both Granada and Carlton expressing your views on the way both companies are conducting themselves in this dispute.

2, Canvas for the resignation of Charles Allen Chief Executive of Granada from his position of Chairman of the Commonwealth games Committee. On the grounds that how can somebody who is prepared to oversee the possible destruction of a sports structure that has been in place for more than 100years, sit as chairman of another sports committee.

3, Write to the Sports Minister Mr R Caborn and ask him to support the Football league in this dispute. To come out publicly. Put pressure on Government to intervene as whole communities throughout the country will be affected by this if ITV Digital breaks their contract with the Football League.

4, Write to their individual MP expressing the same views as 3 above.

5, Rather than boycott any products advertised on ITV we would suggest Supporters at their own discretion select a product/Company who advertise on ITV especially ITV sport and write to the companies concerned expressing their surprise at that company/product still advertisers on ITV. Highlighting the fact that part of the ITV is currently trying to renegotiate an agreed contract with the Football League, with the threat of failing to meet their obligations if this cannot be achieved. This will put at risk the entire Nationwide league structure of 72 clubs. Obviously this will impact on the Supporters of Football league Clubs.

6, Contact your nearest Premiership Club and ask them to show Public support for the Football League in this dispute.

I don't think so, we are steadily making our way out of financial trouble.
