Well Roma are stronger right now than any other Italian team, but in one match anything can happen.
Milan might be able to recover Nesta, though he still has bad memories of Totti/Montella during the 4-0 derby of 2 years ago.
I think the match will end in a draw as both teams will be cautious and will not want to lose (Roma so they don't lose the lead, Milan so they don't get cut off from the top spot).

i already wrote what i think about it...and every word about this "little unimportant" game i write, is one to much!
@Zizou
The derby you mean was 5-1! 4 goals montella and one from totti!
Or did you mean the one from november 1999? that ended 4-1 in our favour.
2 goals vincenzo and 2 from marco :bowing
we were leading 4-0 after 35 minutes... :devil
i was so drunk that i hardly remember the 2nd half, but nothing much happened of what i saw from the videotape a friend of mine bought from this game in rome during his last vacation :laugh
Zizou
Dec 29 2003, 02:04 PM
I was referring to the 5-1..forgot the last two goals ;) What I remember mostly from that match is Nesta being substituted at half time and Totti scoring that great lob on Peruzzi.

that was some game...hell yeah! :bowing
nesta got his butt kicked by vincenzo like never ever before in one halftime :laugh
this game and the one were we won the *cough* "trukke trukke" *cough*(3-1 against parma at olimpico) were the highlights of my life as romanista so far!
...not to much compared to some here, huh?! :laugh

So I guess it would be an advantage for Milan should Nesta not recover from his knee operation, thinking of it it's a pity we don't have Legrottaglie

It would be better for Inter if Milan won but the day I support Milan will be the day that Inter wins the Serie C2.

No of course not. Don't put words into my mouth ;)
If there is one player who can stop an in form Totti, than that's just Nesta. He's the greatest central in the planet.
I was just saying that Nesta has some bad memories of Totti and Montella that's all :)
And yes I know Legro sucks, at least right now he's even worse than Laursen if that is possible

True, but he's not our first option, personally Laursen gives me nightmares, his game Vs Udinese made me understand how great Costacurta and Maldini are
Zizou
Dec 29 2003, 03:04 PM
Yeah Costacurta can still do a good job, even though obviously age has slowed hm down now. Something which incredibly doesn't seem to happen to Maldini if you take the Milan lab tests which indicated he's the fastest player :o

Is Maldini Milan's fastest player???
A year ago they did sprinting and Brocchi came off as fastest.
Zizou
Dec 29 2003, 08:50 PM
At the start of the season, they went through the usual tests for Milan lab and Maldini resulted either the fastest or something (I think diavolo can explain better). Watching Maldini play, he doesn't seem he's in his mid 30s. Certain 20-year-olds look less fit than him.

Sorry can't remember, Milan Lab "x-rays" each squad member daily and is supposed to "improve" their fisical ability and to "lesser" the risk of injuries. I can't remember whitch of the 2, but either the Volleyball or Rugby "Squadra Azzurra" or maybe both, rely on the "Lab".
P.S. I thought Serginho was the fastest but maybe I'm wrong

milan lost twice in a row(boca, udinese)
....roma are great this season...hugh roma win
( hope for a draw)
milan should be very satisfied for a draw without nesta..and inzaghi is also in doubt
Zizou
Jan 4 2004, 11:22 AM
Zanetti actually Milan have lost 3 in a row (against Celta in the CL) so the break came at the right moment for them.

Milan won a lot of important matches last season and previous lost matches doesn't count so much. Nevertheless my heart lies with Roma.

Jan 4 2004, 11:31 AM
The Celta match wasn't vital for us.We played with players like Laursen,Redondo,Boriello,Brocchi,Simic and you expect us to win that match while 7 first team starters went to Yokohoma.
Zizou
Jan 4 2004, 11:33 AM
No I don't but if you don't mention that Milan loss it owuld be double standards, as when Juve lost those 3 matches in a row, the one against Galatasaray was played with reserves :)

Latest news about the match.
Nesta, Pippo Inzaghi and Tomasson and Ambrosini will skip it for Milan
Montella will skip it for Roma
The only attacker Ancellotti will have is Sheva plus the youngster Borriello.

somehow and surprisingly i'm pretty calm for tomorrows game.not that i feel we're gonna win it but compared to the derby i'm alright.
the only thing i'm sad about is that vincenzo won't be in there :(
hopefully totti and cassano pick up a great day and juve screw it up in the afternoon...

That ego of yours is just as heavy and big then my biggest rock in my rock collection ;)
So what have you been up to? Still studying chemicals to take over the world with?
Yes still studing Chem. Eng. although I've postponed my world domination plans since I can't seem to pass that stupid course statistics, which isn't surprising since I even can't answer the question such as calculate the chance of Inter winning the Scudetto in the next 10 years.
Zizou
Jan 8 2004, 01:35 PM
The answer to that is close to zero but it's also variable to Moratti's stay ;)

Give Moratti a break, his environmentalistic wife stole all his large rocks and hard oil residues from his refineries so he can't hide himself for her.

Not one of the nicest games to watch...i was dissapointed with Totti and his performance.
Like usual in the big games he is nowhere to be seen. The cross he delievered to Mancini to set up our equalizer from Cassano was too less for me.
He can't babble s-h-i-t about Nedved(who scored a stunning goal in the afternoon against perugia, although they should have drawn!) not deserving the "pallone d'oro" and showing nothing when we need him.
Forza Roma!

:laugh perhaps you're right but then again we will never know. Pity that even Totti is slightly beginning to look like Recoba who also performs "below average" in the real important matches.

I'm surprised about your somewhat mild responds. What is wrong with you, did you drank too many Gluhwein mit ein stückchen Apfelstrudel tonight? How can you compare a footy God like Totti with an simply stonecutter likle Recoba. You simply can't

"Ein Stückchen Apfelstrudel mit Glühwein"... :laugh
I'm not a big Fan auf Glühwein though.
Actually i don't feel much like arguing tonight.Calmed down since the game, although right after the final whistle i would have loved a (verbal ;) ) fight-if there would have been any milanista or juventino(just for sake of their pure ****in luck against perugia-who hit the post twice) in sight. :devil
If we lose against milan in Coppa doesn't count for me anymore, i only wanted this league game-nothing else!
We'll see how we do in Perugia on sunday...

Roma should grasp very opportunately to humiliate the Rossoneri, even when it is in the Coppa Italia.
Personally I still think that Roma could have won it if Capello didn't gave his players so much defensive tasks. He should have put this Milan under pressure more because that is the only way to beat him.
