FA Cup holders Arsenal will travel to Leeds in the third round of this season's competition.

The Elland Road club, who moved off the bottom of the Barclaycard Premiership yesterday with a home draw against Chelsea, have home advantage in the match against the nine-times winners.

Manchester United, who have won the competition more times than any other club - 10 - also face an all Premiership encounter, away at Aston Villa.

There are three other all-Premiership contests over the weekend of January 3-4.

Southampton will meet Newcastle at St Mary's Stadium, while Birmingham take on Blackburn at St Andrews in a match won 4-0 by the visitors yesterday.

Manchester City, who have not won the competition since 1969, face the side they beat that day - Leicester - in round three.

Famous giant-killers Yeovil, who earned Football League status in the summer, were given a dream tie against Liverpool - competition winners in 2001.

Watford, unexpected semi-finalists last year before their run in the competition was ended by the Saints, have home advantage against big-spending Chelsea, runners-up in 2002.

Eight-times winners Tottenham have home advantage in a London derby against 1990 finalists Crystal Palace, while Middlesbrough and Portsmouth - who played out a goalless draw on Teesside yesterday - were both drawn at home to Division Two opposition.

Steve McClaren's men are at home to Notts County while Pompey take on 1953 winners Blackpool.

Cheltenham travel to Premiership side Fulham, while Division Three rivals Kidderminster were given an appealing home draw against top flight strugglers Wolves.

Midlands rivals West Brom are away to Nottingham Forest, Charlton and Bolton are at Gillingham and Tranmere respectively, and Everton take on Norwich.

Of the non-league teams left, Telford were rewarded for their 3-0 defeat of Brentford yesterday with a trip to Nationwide Division One Crewe.

Nationwide Conference rivals Accrington, who won a replay with Bournemouth after a 1-1 draw on the south coast yesterday, will have home advantage against Colchester if they win the rematch on December 16.

Derby boss George Burley returns to Portman Road with Ipswich paired against the Rams - less than 24 hours after Town came out on top 2-1 in Division One.

Wigan and West Ham meet at the JJB Stadium, while Hartlepool's reward for seeing off Burton Albion today is a trip up the A19 to take on Sunderland.

Swansea's match with the winners of the Cambridge v Macclesfield replay means Division Three is guaranteed a presence in the fourth round.

I don't know why people are getting excited about this tie,IMO there's no chance of an "upset" and Liverpool will win by 2 or 3 goals.
I think it's the worse 3rd round draw ever, half the prem drawn against each other!

well i think this draw is quite shocking.......

the big upset could possibly be at yeovil, its away and yeovil will be up for it with their sloping pitch!

leeds vs arsenal aint that bad i suppose, at least we getting "back" on track and should be able to provide a decent match!

With that draw a few nationwide clubscould go a long wayim sure there will be at least one in the semi's maybe even one in the final if the draw goes right for them but the fa will rig it to make sure the final is an all premiership affair.

How many times has there been a premiership club v a nationwide club in the semi's and the premiership club went through, mainly due to a dodgy refereeing descision ?

I'm thinking mainly Chesterfield and League cup final when saying this.

if your f.a. rigged cups, people would click on and boycott the games, it would be to big a risk for even your "joke" of an f.a. to take, luck has a lot to do with it.

Yes, but he was fine when he realised the clever tactics behind it all. The sub keeper can take wicked penalties!!!

It was a good game, I got to watch it live. I love penalties. Too bad you have to wait for 2 hours before you get to them.

Scunthorpe set up a meeting with Barnsley in the third round of the FA Cup after recording a penalty shoot-out win over Sheffield Wednesday. The two sides could not be separated throughout the 120 minutes, but Scunthorpe held their nerve the better to secure a 3-1 victory. Peter Beagrie, Kevin Sharp and Steven McLean all converted for The Iron, while Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, Robbie Mustoe and Brian Barry-Murphy all failed to find a way past Tom Evans to hand the visitors victory. Chances in open play were few and far between, although Lloyd Owusu should have won the game in the last minute but his effort crashed off the post and Adam Proudlock wasted a superb early chance.

The Owls were made to pay as they wilted under the pressure of the shoot-out, as Steven Haslam was their only successful taker.

Kidderminster, 1 minute from glory, let in Rae to equalise. I think thats Kidderminster's chance gone now. Shame! Congrats to Telford winning away 1-0 at Crewe. And to Gillingham coming from behind to win 3-2. Bad luck to Hartlepool losing 0-1 at Sunderland in the Northeast derby.

Bad luck Yeovil, you did yourselves proud!
