Oh I know why! Adu was on the bench! :)

Even if US had 10 Freddy Adu's they cant beat Germany. Football isnt bout pure talent, its about tactics, hardwork, commitment... things US and Adu dont have.

hahaha. I was only joking, but if the USA had 10 Adu's they would definitely win. :) hahahaha

That is a great win after the opening game debacle.
The USA have very good youth teams and in WM 2002 showed how organised they have become.

Excellent news.

if we do make it to the quarters it would be amazing because this group havent played together at all ,we're missing so many players that played at last years euro under 19 ,hanke, volz, riether, odonkor, lahm,we still got quality players though

Very harsh there.
In an ideal world teams would have a mixture of both....flair and great teamwork.
The US eventually will in my opinion rival the great European nations....it is just a matter of time.

I think it'll be a matter of years, for sure in the next 30 I think with SO many kids growing up playing it now instead of baseball. Just look at our showing at the last world cup, a "coming out party" so to speak with a HUGE wins over Portugal and Mexico.

Congrats to the Germans by the way for beating us and advancing, good luck in the rest of the competition. :clap :clap

Anyway, we also only lost 1-0 to Germany in the quarters of the WC. That in itself should be something. Another note, that was totally a flagrant handball in the goal and we should have got a pk! (I'm sure that point has already been debated.)

I'm glad Germany was the team to beat us though, they are a world class team and I was rooting for them throughout the competition, except against Ireland and the US of course.

Ok I must say this, I do not like Americans at all (well Im an Arab) but I really can picture US soccer being one of the top nations in the world soon. Its not hard to imagine USA winning the worldcup in 2010 or 2014, sometime in the near future. USA is world class at almost every sport out there, they are a very rich country and the citizens are sports-oriented. Anyways I wish them luck in winning the WC soon, don't get close to 06 thou, that's Germany's!

Come on Swissknife-how many Americans do you know ?
They are some of the nicest people in the world.

Good and bad everywhere.People are generally the same the world over. You have to treat people as you find them.

You cannot generalise 281 million people....

trust me,its not such a bad thing , the US and Korea had 2 months training camp preparation for this ,probably paraguay too, we just assembled a team that barely played together before,we're missing 5 to six important players cuz they play in the bundesliga ,schweinstiger, lahm, hanke, riether, odonkor

Just another brick in the German misery wall...
*no Germans in Uefa cup
*2 in the CL, none with a realstic chance of doing great
*out of youth champs
*"A" team losing to every possible big team

The only thing Germans have to be proud about in 2003 is the women's team, and Michael Schumacher :laugh
