Villarreal striker Sonny Anderson has dismissed reports that he is set for a return to France.
The Brazilian joined the La Liga outfit from Lyon last summer, and has enjoyed a typically prolific start to his career for Benito Floro's side, notching five goals in just six starts.
However, reports in France had suggested that Anderson was poised for a speedy return to previous employers Lyon, reports which the 33-year-old has now shot down.
However, the former Barcelona and Monaco star did hint he could end his career back at Lyon in a couple of years time.
"I am flattered by the rumours, but it is out of question," he told L'Equipe.
"At first, I didn't have any contact, neither did my agents.
"Then, after I left Lyon, I promised myself that if I did come back to France it would be only for Lyon.
"I decided to leave Lyon because behind me there were players like Sidney Govou and Pegguy Luyindula who needed to play.
"Lyon made me a good proposition for a job like Jorge Valdano at Real Madrid, both as sport director and club's ambassador, but I am still a player and we will see later.
"In Spain the game is less quick than in France, where the marking and the physical aspect are the rules. So I am having a lot of fun."
