According to the most reliable sport show in Iceland, it is almost certain that Gudjohnsen will join Newcastle in January. They ran a story today about how Gudjohsen and his father (who is now his agent) have been talking up a move a Newcastle.
Ranieri will not stand in Gudjohnsens way if he decides to leave as he has the freedom to call back Mikael Forssell or simply buy another striker. They said that Eidurs father had talks with Bobby Robson when the sides met at Stamford Bridge (they apparently have met before when Bobby was in charge with PSV).
Eidur is likely to cost around 5m pounds. Also it is was mentioned that Eidur thinks St James’s Park is the best stadium he has ever played in.
