Yesterday I returned to training
All in all we can be very happy with the qualifying campaign for the European Championships. We finished on top of the group four points ahead of Scotland, and with 13 scored and only four goals conceded we also have a pretty good goal difference.
And the final match against Iceland wasn’t that bad, either. Of course, I’m very pleased that I scored the opening goal. But I also profited from Fredi Bobic’s delightful assist. We actually showed a good team performance against Iceland. After all, that’s what its all about. And now I’m already looking forward to the Euro next year in Portugal.
Bayern trained twice yesterday, and in the afternoon I finally returned to team training again. And I was also able to train today. But since I still have some problems with my joint ankle I had to take things a bit easier. But it’s looking really good for the game against Gladbach.
It’s not going to be an easy mach at the Bökelberg. And we really shouldn’t underestimate Gladbach. Even though Borussia are currently in the lower regions of the table after failing to win any of their last four games, they want to and they need to earn some points now. Well, but that’s want we also want to do. Because it’s now crucial for us to extend our little two-game winning streak and keep on the heels of the top teams!
