Pierluigi Collina will be the Referee when "i giallorossi" entertain Parma on sunday afternoon.

And when we Romanisti think of playing against the gialloblu in Olimpico, we always have to think back to the 17th July 2001.
The game where we grabbed our 3rd Scudetto with goals from Totti, Montella and Batistuta.

A lot has changed since our scudetto season...Batigol, Cafu, Mangone, Aldair, Di Francesco, Assuncao, Balbo, Antonioli, Zanetti, Zago and Hidetoshi Nakata have retired or left.
The new heroes in "maglia giallorossa" are Chivu, Cassano, Amantino and De Rossi while the only remaining offensive legends are Totti, Montella and Delvecchio.
Two of them in doubt for this game, all of them missed the 2nd leg of the Uefa Cup against Vardar.
"Super Marco" will be out at least 40 more days as "il capitano" and "l'Aeroplanino" are expected to start for 90%!

Capello will have to come up with some very clever tactics to crack Parma and earn us another vital 3 important points in campionato.
A lot will depend if our defense will be able to get hold of Adriano who proved the flair at the Olimpico with his decisive goal against lazio.
Australian Mark Bresciano is expected to start on the Brazilian's side as they will face Chivu, Samuel and Zebina. With an average of 23,6 years the youngest defense among Serie A Top clubs!
Last seasons game in Rome ended with a 2-1 win for us thanks to goals from Totti and Guigou while Adriano scoring for the guests.(amazing free kick in the top corner as far as i remember...)
The game at the Ennio Tardini was a terrible 3-0 defeat where we were outclassed on every position! Definitly one of the many low-lights from 02/03.

Statistics at the Olimpico:
Roma:8
Parma:1
Draws:4

The yellowblue's win dates back to April 1997, when Hernan Crespo scored the decisive strike to grab the only victory ever for the team from Emiglia Romana in the capitol.

Probable Formation:

------------------Totti---------------------------

----------Montella-------------Carew---------

but cassano is class and i don't think you should drop players like him after a poor game but someone like John carew he never shows anything. pile of s***, why is he even a footballer ?

I would consider bringing on Cassano in 2nd half.
Carew hasn't shown much so far but i don't slag him off for that ;)

Well he did score 2 goals from 4 matches he played so he's not doing as bad as Jancker or other players who come to Italy for the first time. Enjoying your new forum giallorosso? :)

He is doing quite well actually for someone who just came from playing in Spain and is playing for the first time in Italy. Players who play in Spain usually choke totally in Italy. Look at Rivaldo and Mendieta

I'm glad to see that there is a Roma forum now! :clap Sunday's game will conclude a score of Roma 3 - 2 Parma. My only concern is of Adriano and his predatory striking abilities, however we do have the best footballer in Italy in Francesco Totti. Anyways, it should be a great match!

"gialla come il sole, rossa come il cuore mio"

P.S. I hope Milan teach those "burini" a thing or two about football

Says who? Gobbo?! :laugh :devil

"nun te fa n'cantaaaaa!
tu sei nata graaaaaaande
é grande hai da reeeeesstaaaaaaaaaaa..."

Seems Carew will not be able to start, not even on the bench.
So it'll be "l'Aeroplanino" and "Peter Pan" up front :bowing

And only for this time:
forza milan :laugh

At the end Cassano scored too, and with his head... :o

Btw I'm wondering from where giallorosso took that formation from seen that everyoneone knew that Carew and Montella (and Delvecchio who will probably lose also the derby where he always scores, sad new for romanisti) were injured and that only Cassano and Totti would have played in attack ;)

Great game! Daniele De Rossi was simply outstanding.Parma was tired and couldn't really put us under pressure.
Important win especially before next weekends clash with Inter at San Siro.
Hope inter will be given a damn hard time in CL on Tuesday so Vieri is as tired a s Adriano was yesterday!

@montella & carew

Mea culpa :laugh
On Friday night i was reading somewhere that Vincenzino was still in doubt but probably get fit for the game.
On the official site or was it gazzetta.it?! You'll never know how serious it is with injuries or doubtfull players.Last season 2 days before a derby Totti had 39 degrees temperature and played fantastic in the game.
Must have been the candles i lit and prayers i sent ;) :bowing

De Rossi was class once again. Italy's future central midfield will consist of De Rossi - Maresca
