I remember the first FA Cup I watched on TV. Back in the days when ITV would show it, it was Spurs v Coventry in 1987. I remember Spurs despatching Watford 4-0 (I think) in the semis (courtesy of Glenn Hoddle mesmerising the defence while Coventry narrowly squeezed past Leeds 2-1 (I think). The omens were good. The charity match before it was won by the Tottenham Frostspurs (star player was Daley Thompson) v The Sky Blues (with David Frost) 2-0. The final was Spurs, well, should've been. Unfortunately someone must've cursed Spurs that day as from when they walked onto the pitch, everyone could see disaster for Spurs coming. First of all, half the players were missing the sponsor's logo! God knows what happened to them. In the match Coventry were matching Spurs kick for kick and half-time was 1-1, full-time was 2-2. Extra time. Damn that Garry Mabbutt with him scoring an own goal by sticking his leg out when Ray Clemence had the shot already covered. I was really really upset that day. To this day I still hate Coventry with a passion. So :salute to all the Coventry fans out there ;)

The first FA Cup final that I remember watching was in 1994.

Manchester United against Chelsea - I seem to remember Sparky Hughes doing rather well!

The first one I can remember was the 1973 final between Leeds and Sunderland...................30 years later and the second part of that double save from Sunderland's Jim Montgomery Is still the greatest save I've ever seen!!!!

I maybe watched others but the earliest I can remember sitting and watching was Everton vs Liverdull (or Liverpool as they were known back then :P )

3-2 to the Reds it finished and a rather fine game it was :clap
