Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand has had a dig atManchester City (http://www.surfcanyon.com/search?f=sl&q=Manchester%20City&partner=wtigca) fans by suggesting they are only more visible now the club is tasting success.
City won the FA Cup last season and are currently battling with Manchester United for the Premier League title.
"Walking around in town, you see more and more blue shirts than you probably ever would have seen over the last 10 years," the defender told BBC Sport.
"Success sometimes brings people out of the woodwork."
The 33-year-old added: "So fingers crossed we can delay that and make sure that we get this title sewn up this season."

All the drugs he didn't do made him forget the attendances at OT in the 80s ;)

When I lived in the Oldham area I knew quite a few manchester city fans, maybe just the city fans wearing their clubs colours is more visible and not the amount of support

Quite, the idea a Man Utd player thinks he can accuse other clubs fans of gloryhunting is highly amusing :laugh

This is one of those comments that he should really keep to himself, if anything all it does is add legitimacy to those he's trying to denigrate.

Also, if it wasn't for those type of fans, his club wouldn't be what it is as many have already said.

Dick, he should of kept his digs to the proper medium, no place for it in interviews. Everyone knows you do it via advertising boards.

What a hero.

A lovely, warm, respectable ambassador for your club.

It's a wind up on City fans. People saying irony is lost on Rio, it seems humour is lost on City.

I've never seen a footballer walking around town (Manchester).

Most famous I've seen out and about is Michelle Keegan and Paddy from Shameless. :laugh

That. Ferdinand has a habit of talking too much these days. If he wants to play mind games, he should ask Fergie for advice cos he suck at it unlike the master.

Camel gob should look at City's attendances in the late 90.s, that is when we were really cr&p. He will find that we have always been there and that we have not just crawled out of the woodwork.

I do t see whats so wrong about what he is saying though? All he's really doing is stating the obvious, it would be the se for any club in the world.
