Serie A will have 20 contestants next season

Well.. Since Serie B has 24 contestants this season, new regulations will apply for next season. There will be 5 teams that will be promoted to serie A next season, it will make serie B contestants reduced to 22 (now 24), and add serie A contestants to 20. :angry:
And for 2004/2005, there will be 3 teams relegated from serie A and 3 teams promoted from serie B.
IMO, this will make Italian team's schedule full with match, and more injuries will occured. And, there will also be more challenges, according to Lippi. :rolleyes:
This whole mess cause was Catania, the team which was sent to Serie C by Lega. Catania sued Lega to the public court, and unfortunately they won the court :o . It made Catania, Genoa, Fiorentina, and Salernitana promoted to Serie B.

I was SO against that new reglement!
It was tradition,and just cause you sue the league cause of a ridiculous decision-and u win everything has to be changed.
The worst crime in my eyes is that "Viola"(fiorentina) skipped the WHOLE C1!!!

Looks like you have the same view as Marcello Lippi does.. :)
But, I agree with you and Lippi. There will be more matches to see, more competition, more players rotation, and more challenges even though it means that serie A teams won't have the advantage over other european teams in Champions League any more.

Catania was sent off from Serie B to Serie C1 by the Lega for some reason. And, they got pissed off and sued the Lega to the public court. They won the court.
So, the Lega has introduced a new rule : No more club is allowed to sue the Lega to public court or 6 points penalty will be applied to involved club. :laugh

Strikers from Italy are always in the disadvantage compared to their collegues from Spain since they have to play lesser matches. It's time that the golden boot will go to an Italian striker.
