Harry Redknapp reports that Rafael van der Vaart is out of Saturday's trip to Bolton and Aaron Lennon a big doubt.
Rafa limped off at Old Trafford with a hamstring problem last weekend but recovered in time to start against Inter Milan on Tuesday.
He scored the opening goal in the 18th minute of our 3-1 win against the European champions but only lasted until half-time.
Meanwhile, Aaron picked up a hamstring injury in training on Thursday.
"Rafa's not fit and Aaron is struggling for Bolton, he has to be doubtful," said Harry.
Ledley King (groin), Michael Dawson (ankle) and Jermain Defoe (ankle) also remain out.
"There's a little group of them - van der Vaart, Lennon, Dawson, Defoe, King, five not-bad players, when you think about it..." added Harry.
"Michael is working as hard as you'd expect. He's improving but he's still a way away and it's the same with Ledley and Jermain.
"They are not fit but whoever has come in and played has done a fantastic job for us."
Heurelho Gomes is available again after being suspended against Inter.

Bentley to get a Game? Maybe Kranks? Really need to get some league wins soon.
hopefully niko for VDV because i love seeing modric completely run things from deep.
would rather see gio on the right bentley can do one after the lack of energy he showed against arsenal in the carling cup. i know gio hasnt really done much of anything either and barely touched the ball that game but he has pace and skill and they will have paul robinson at leftback.

I'd be tempted to rest bale against either these lot or sunderland. Play modric on the left and have sandro in the centre....

I bet we struggle. A draw might be a decent result.

Grumble lad, welcome back!
Tea, I'd say put him on bench for tomorrow's game and then if needed he's there.
If harry was to rest bale and it didn't work out he would get absolutely roasted by the fans and press but I do agree. He can't play 3 games at that tempo in a week, he will burn out eventually
I reckon bench him against sunderland. Its a home game so we are more likkely to do well

Either of these two games he needs to be rested to some extent, we'll only have ourselves to blame if he does burn out.
We never win at Bolton ...

TEAM NEWS - Harry Redknapp makes four changes from Tuesday's famous win against Inter Milan. Niko Kranjcar comes in for his first league start of the campaign and is joined in midfield by Wilson Palacios and Sandro. Rafa van der Vaart, Tom Huddlestone and Aaron Lennon drop out. The fourth change sees Heurelho Gomes back in goal for Carlo Cudicini.
STARTING XI -
Gomes;
Hutton, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto;
Kranjcar, Palacios, Sandro, Bale;
Modric;
Crouch.
SUBS - Cudicini, Corluka, Bassong, Bentley, Huddlestone, Jenas, Pavlyuchenko.
verysurprised jenas isnt starting. i think he deserves it.

He's gone quite defensive in the middle, I'm guessing for Modric to be able to have that free role.
Kirstie THFC
Nov 6 2010, 10:28 AM
On a side note, happy for Kranjcar

That's not how I want to see us start

Nov 6 2010, 10:35 AM
Why are we playing like we're in the last 5 mins of the game and defending a 1 goal lead?

Fancied Bolton before kick off but didn't put a bet on it
This is going to be a weekend of mistakes for my gambling I think
palacios isthe worse passer of the ball ever. wanna see jenas or hudd for sandro or palacios
Not a surprising result at all as it stands.
Coyle is God.

Well Palacios went off but for the formation to switch to 4-4-2.
Pavlyuchenko on for Palacios.

2-0 Bolton, looks like spurs are suffering from a major euro hangover

This is why I love Wikipedia:
Owen Columba Coyle (born 14 July 1966) is a Scottish-Irish professional association football manager and former player. He is currently the manager of Bolton Wanderers and a c*nt.
A half hour to go, I have a feeling that Tottenham will snake their way back into it either thru a ****ty call and a fluke bounce. Then again, Gomes could completely lose his idiot mind and punt the ball into the back of his own net.

Nov 6 2010, 11:51 AM
Huddlestone on for Sandro.
I like this.
I'd probably be tempted to say bring on Keane, it cant get much worse so ...

European hangover, you played at home.
Can't say I'm suprised about this to be honest your form has been so inconsistant this season.
Spurs haven't won at Bolton in the league since 95/96.
Not only the result of a Euro hangover.

Spurs have lost the ******* plot. William "Professor" Gallas has really been **** and 'Arry is sitting on the bench and you can see it in his eyes.
3-1 Hutton, great goal.
Of course people ignored my comments that he on his day is as good as Bale. People would have been jizzing over Bale if he scored that.

Told you. Huddlestone stepped on Elmander (should have had the PK earlier).

Reckon huddlestone will get a ban for his gay little stamp on elmander? no need for it tbh don't understand why he did it

Nov 6 2010, 09:46 PM
Huddlestone must get a ban, that was shocking.
You really need a decent striker, don't understand how crouch gets a game.

hes **** but hes still better than pav and keane imo.
and i agree about hudd, thats the 2nd time hes done something like that this season, never seen that side of him before.

hes **** but hes still better than pav and keane imo.
Pav has **** all round play but his finishing is outstanding. IMO we have a bunch of midfielders that are good at ball retension and suck at finishing so crouch brings very little. Tell pav to stay upfront and finish stuff off.
im having a discussion on another spurs site about pav atm as it goes.
he thoroughly deserves to start tuesday and your right he is a fantastic finishe but his all round game is poor. hes alot like inzaghi in that respect.
if he played like he played in the first half against villa every game then he would be a fantastic striker.
MrTea
Nov 7 2010, 05:21 PM
The thing is, if we look at a first choice midfield of
-Bale-Modric-VDV-Huddlestone-Lennon-
With VDV more advanced, we may as well have Pav up front to finish things off.
for now yeah, but when defoe is back i will want him to start amd i also want someone new in january.
