you haven't seen the likes of my country yet. It is hard for my country (singapore) to break into the international scene, and we set targets like world cup by 2010, and we constantly meet defeats. no........all my family comes from alcala de henares.......somthing like a suburb of madrid but connected directly and every one of my family members supprt madrid!..........iv supported madrid since their 30 some year slump!...........now they are back and ready to conquer..

I don't support ANY Spanish sides, but there are a few I like.

Firstly, I like Barcelona. They are a team with a great history, and were the focal point of Catalan opposition during the reigh of Franco at a time when Catalonia and the Catalan language was supressed.
It's like Barcelona is a focal point of Catalan identity, in the same way as Newcastle United is for Geordies, and the Northumbrian region. In fact the flags of Catalonia and Northumbria are quite similar. The team themselves have always had the ethos of playing attractive attacking quick football as well. Things haven't been going to well for them the past few seasons, which I can't work out considering the players they have. But I've liked them for a long time.

secondly Real Madrid (obviously one of the reasons why I don't actually support a Spanish team!). You can't help but admire them for their history and players etc. I admire Man U for the same sort of reasons, but obviously Real Madrid aren't English so therefore that admiration can be more likeable. A great side.

Athletic Bilbao. They wear the red and white stripes of NUFC's deadly rivals Sunderland due to them being formed by Sunderland supporters, but NUFC played Bilbao in the UEFA Cup ten years ago, and there was a great rapport between the two sets of fans in both legs. Bilbao, like Newcastle is a traditionally industrial city based on Shipbuilding, but has now become more cosmopolitan, and again they like their football quick and attacking, and so there is a lot of similarities. That probably sounds really pretentious or daft or something, but it's meant that a lot of people here have a soft spot for Bilbao. Sh¡t colours though!

I don't support a team in Spain because I like all the teams as I especially like to watch the big games on Sky Sports eg. Real Madrid v Barcelona, Valencia v Lavante, Barcelona v Espanyol etc. The spanish team I've always liked though is Real Madrid because my favourite player was Zidane. I don't get to see much Spanish football, unfortunately, aside from Real Madrid and Barcelona every now and then in the Champions League. But if I did, I think I would be a fan of Sevilla. Yeah, that convenient past, pigeon-holed inbetween the present and the even slightly more distant past... i.e. change that number from five to 10 years and the answer is three wins compared to Barcelona's one, and if we switch to the present, neither have looked like winning it, Barcelona just got an easier draw last year...then if we look at overall win/draw/loss records...well, they speak for themselves...right?!
