We are rumoured to be interested, possible move this summer for £9.6m.

What are the latest rumours over in Greece?

Would he be suited to us and the Premiership?

Manchester United have reportedly beaten off competition from Italy to sign Greek youngster Sotiris Ninis.

The Panathinaikos starlet has been courted by some of the top clubs in Serie 'A', but United are thought to have won the race for the starlet with a £9.6 million move.

Attacking midfielder Ninis has a growing reputation after a fantastic start to his career in the Greek Super League. A product of Trifylli's youth system, the playmaker made his debut as teenager in 2006.

The 20-year-old took his first team opportunities this season, and helped his side to the title for the first time in six years.

International recognition has followed for Ninis, who made his debut for the Greek U21 side in 2007. The following year, senior honours were granted and the midfielder has played six times for Greece already this season. He scored his only goal for the country against Cyprus.

Roma, Inter, AC Milan and Arsenal have all previously been linked with Ninis, but Forza Roma reports that Sir Alex Ferguson has won the race for one of Europe's hottest properties.

The Red Devils have already confirmed the signing of Mexican starlet Javier Hernandez, and the addition of Ninis would confirm that the club are looking at long-term replacements for veterans like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

I like Ninis a lot, I really hope any Italian team will sign him. Roma was interested in him, too bad they dont have any money.

There has been plenty of rumors surrounding Ninis.

First it was ManU's interest in May. Then Tottenham was rumored to have made a bid. Then Roma made a bid for 5 mill Euro and were laughed at. Then Genoa made a bid for 50% of his rights for 3 million. They were also laughed at...

Then came this news of a 12 million Euro (£9.6m?) offer from ManU. Widely reported but the money makes no sense and I'm skeptical to its truth. Ninis buyout clause is 10+ million. Why pay 12 million Euro when you only have to pay a little over 10?

He will be gone for sure next summer. I'm hoping he stays for this coming season. With Govou, Cisse, Leto, and Ninis we can really have a great season in the Champions League this year.

As far as how he would do in the EPL it depends on how he copes with the physicality.

You can compare him to Luka Modric. Diminutive and with decent pace but its his vision, passing, and outside shot that make him so good. Luka has had injury issues throughout his time at Spurs but when he plays... hes the sh1t.

Modric can dominate a side though, isn't Ninis just more of a wing player?

Like for Dinamo the team WAS Modric. The only other player I've seen like that recently was Riquelme.

No Ninis is a central player who is at his best when he can receive the ball in attacking areas and distribute appropriately.

He was used more as a winger earlier in his career and sometimes recently because of player selection. Hes never as good on the wing though... he needs the ball to get involved and really influence a game. He always plays his best when used as a number 10.
