What was that Pires goal all about yesterday!! He is some player!!But when watching all these flamboyant foreign men the i think we cant win the world cup!! Im as English as anyone and hop we can win it, but with players now peaking like Pires, i wonder if we have got anyone to take the game by the scruff of the neck like Henry or Pires would!! I really hope so but Beckham will be man-marked more or less every game so where is it gunna come from??? I hope i am wrong!!!

COME ON ENGLAND!!!

Dyer :) no really if he gets games under his belt now and doesn't break down then he will be the freshest bloke there and has some of the best skills that he could easily do that job.

He was the first person to come to my mind but for some reason i dont think he will make it!!
Im a massive fan and one of the best around, people like Joe Cole etc are no where near the same league!!

You are correct. There is a reason why England has not won ANYTHING for 30 (or even 40?) years - they are not that good. Besides it seems that many times team England underachives and loses penalty shoot outs - when has England won a penalty shoot out :eek maybe some practice is in order or the manager should not choose chokers like Ince, Batty..

And look Premier:
1) how many of the top 10 strikers are english?
2) who is the best defender?
3) best goalie?
4) best midfielders?

There are some countries that are clearly (let the team England prove me wrong!) better: Argentina, Brazil, Italy, France, Spain.. some with equal talent/skill: Portugal, Holland, Korea ( :eek :) ), Germany, Serbia, Croatia..

Ok, maybe England could challenge present Brazil. Maybe.

I'm sure he will, he's already back playing first team football (made his comeback against Ipswich) and by the time the World Cup comes he should be flying.

after italy we may as well not bother the team aint good enough IMO
