Claudio Ranieri sent out a warning to fourth-placed Newcastle: "Chelsea are after you."
The Blues moved to within three points of Newcastle and automatic qualification for next season's Champions League, as well as recording their third successive 4-0 victory and coach Ranieri called for the consistentcy to secure a top four finish.
And after the drubbing of Sunderland, he said: "Newcastle are three points ahead of us now. Everyone knows it will be difficult but I have said it before, and I say it again now, we must try to overtake them.
"This win was important for our confidence. I am Italian and that means I don't like to concede goals, and it is nice that we are performing consistently.
"If we want to win the league in the future then it is important to be consistent. If you are not consistent then you do not get anywhere.
"The confidence here is always the same, and I want it remain how it is for the rest of the season.
"It was important to finish this week well but now we must forget everything and focus on our next game - at Liverpool."

<snip Ranieri talk>
I'm not sure what saying that is set to achieve, does he expect Newcastle to just roll over and die, we've lost two games against good sides and drawn a game because of a ref, we get Bellamy back this week along with Dyer and Cort will hopefully get back match fit and then we just carry on where we left off before the Arsenal league game. I still think we will pick up 80 points and Chelsea won't catch us. If they lose next week against Liverpool and we win then it's back to that 6 point gap and everyone wondering why they even questioned us. Of course if Man U, Arsenal or Liverpool lose a couple of games or draw one to many then we could even start moving up the table again.

Chelsea is dangerous, but if Magpies get it together Chelsea has no chance. Itīs up to Ncastle. Chelsea has begun to score some goals lately - I can see them winning 5 in a row. Itīs possible. Then they lose to Charlton or something..

Arse?!

Only thing Magpies get from Gooners is a huge slap in the face! FA Cup time, Ncastle out! Maybe Ncastle can top Pool, but not ManU or Arse..
Soon Pool will make a dive - stay alert.

Have you seen our run in we really should be able to win them all especially as Bellamy will be back for Everton at the latest (may be back of Saturday) and Dyer will be back to full fitness, we can get back to doing what we've done the whole season which is win despite what people seem to think.

Eidur and Jimmy is the best strike duo in the league in my opinion. They link up brilliantly and are totally on the same wavelength. More to the point, they've scored me many points in my fantasy footy competition in work :)
Big test for them at the weekend, wonder who I want to win???? :yes
