Peterborough manager merry go round goes round again
Mark Cooper has had his contract as manager of Peterborough terminated with immediate effect.
Cooper had only been at the helm of the London Road club for just over two months having been named as the surprise replacement for Darren Ferguson.
The former Kettering manager took the reins on 16th November but has overseen just one victory in his 13 games in charge.
Posh are 11 points adrift at the foot of the Championship table after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace and look destined for an immediate return to League One.
A statement on the club's official website: "After meeting with the manager, Peterborough United and Mark Cooper are parting company with immediate effect following the termination of his contract.
"The football club would like to thank Mark for his professional and dedicated service during his time at London Road and wish him and his family all the best for the future."

It was always a risk in appointing Cooper.
They need someone with experience if they want to stay up, which looks very unlikely I must say.

They have a few decent players, Boyd,Mackail-Smith and McLean the obvious 3.
If Ferguson stayed, I think they would of stayed up.
In trouble now though. With who ever they get with the Window shutting in 4 hours.

Joke. Of. A. Club.
Peterborough were always doomed.
Watched them get "outclassed" by a dire Derby team on day 1 of the season.
Told a P'boro fan that day they were going donw and Forest were to be promoted on that very day too. God I'm awesome.
THAT IS ALL.

Gannon is a good manager like. definitely will do well in the future.
The chairman had balls to hold his hands up and say that Cooper was a mistake

Screw you posh. Cooper leaving resulted in Bridge losing Steve Burr to Kidderminster!!!!!!!!

Steve Burr was quality at Hucknall a few years back. Won us the league and took us to Villa Park, then it's been downhill ever since he went to Northwich.
Cooper was the wrong choice in the first place. MacAnthony said he gave him the job on merit for his success with Kidderminster. When you look as if the season is going to be one relegation battle, you go for experience. I personally think MacAnthony didn't want to dig deep and would hope this would work out.
Now they're in a bigger mess than they was before they appointed Cooper.
Jim Gannon is the new boss anyways. Just what they need...an idiot. Bye bye P'boro

I personally think this appointment has the potential to be absolutely superb. Posh are 11 points off the drop (i believe) and for them to stay up will take a miracle. MacAnthony has got a manager who was regarded extremely highly at Stockport and his all time win % is still very respectable.
Posh need to rebuild, it would be a given to suggest that some (or all) of McLean, Boyd, Mackail Smith will leave the club and they will need to rebuild for the future, which im sure MacAnthony is thinking about

Posh we're always going find it hard in the championship this season. posh are good enough for league one at best but dont have too many good enough players that could help them stay up in championship.

A lot of people expected posh to do well this season me included. I think it's surprising to see them in the position they are in. The players i've listed above are good players of a championship quality. Unfortunately with relegation staring them straight in the face it seems they will lose these players.
Posh need to rebuild for the future and under Gannon I think they've got every chance

A solitary win in 13 attempts says it all, back to league 1 they go.

Bit too optimistic to believe someone would springboard from non-league to do a decent job at CCC level.
I like Jim Gannon. Gets his teams playing good football and gets the best out of young players without the sufficient resources. As Marko said, they should rebuild and come back stronger. Relegation is a certainty.
