So we are loning an Japanese midfielder for a season, haven't got any expectations really, hope he can adjust and show his class. What I've read he sounds promosing.

all japanese players who play in Europe are famous in Japan.. if they're not good players, they won't get in Europe, so those players have to be quite good.. since Japan doesn't have many good players.. all these Japanese going to Europe are famous in their country.. same goes for Koreans..

I heard it's a good player who's got 11 caps for Japan. Let's hope it's true.

thats bull...not all those players are famous. Plus the thing that korean players where so popular was also because of their good results at the wc and with hiddink. Thats why footie there is hyped up and not all players are merchandise worthy

Agreed! Just looked at Nam-Il Kim, he had a fan club 100 times the size of the capacity of the Excelsior-ground. While he even failed at Excelsior!!!

He is famous in Japan. But since a sponsor is paying his transfer fee + salary we probably wont get all the merchandise income. And I still haven't heard confirmation from the club so nothing is sure...

I wonder if that's true, we all know our technical director Berger very well and he lies very often, so why not this time? I don't trust him anymore...

ah well I'm sure this japanese guy won't have higher cost than income he's going to give.. I mean Utrecht is surely going to get extra tv money cause of him and there is going to be a lot of japanese press, who'll all pay their ticket and probable the most expensive ones, who maybe wouldn't have been sold otherwise and of course the merchandising of Utrecht things will rise in Japan... ;)

Yeah there are some benefits although the sponsor paying the transfeer fee probably wants to make some cash on it aswell...
Btw he arrived in Utrecht today(trip payed by himself) to vist the ground and the city. We didn't make a bid to him, he offerd himself to Utrecht. Apparently after seeing the cupfinal he loves utrecht and wants to play for us! :clap
