Soccer-Real Madrid set to open football school in Mexico
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -- The kickoff to building work for Real Madrid's first soccer school outside Spain will be made in Mexico next week, sources for the private university and telephone company sponsors said.
Real said in March they would open football academies in Mexico and China in keeping with a commitment by club president Florentino Perez during his election campaign in 2000 to build schools bearing the club's name throughout the world.
The nine-times European champions' Mexican school will be based at the sports facilities of Anahuac University and will open in September.
