I've heard Nesta is the next aim of Fergie. Fergie watched the Rome derby last sunday, the only thing he interest in is Nesta. In fact, Fergie have followed Nesta for years and Lazio and Italia's mainstay will replace Blanc after the French retire.

I don't believe it at first, but when you take JSV's move back into consideration, it's not only a rumour maybe.

1) Xavier (nobody else wanted him, bargain price)
2) Litmanen
3) Dudek (was on his way to Arse, but deal got nixed)
4) Diomede :eek
5) Anelka (nobody else wanted him.. doing ok)
6) Hyypiä (fairly unknown until came to Pool)

Arsenal´s latest coops:
1) Sol (England international)
2) Pires :)
3) Stepanovs :eek
4) Lauren (African player of the year)

And couple of years back:

I admit that maybe Vieira/Pires/Petit/Anelka were not top notch signings when they first came here, but you know your footy, so tell me! Arsenal revives players careers or gives them one.. that´s why players want to join Arse - to be better players in a good environment.

We have lost Petit/Overmars.. but looking back it wasn´t such a loss. They went downhill after Highbury. And Pool have lost Fowler/Macca - even their own talent doesn´t want to stay there. Do you have chemistry problems?

Actually Arsenal couldn´t agree on the price (not salaries) and Arse got Wright instead.. Dudek still would´ve wanted to come to Arse, but we were packed.

This year Dudek has been better than Wright and I feel bad that Pool got him, Arse not. On the other hand I´m pleased that Arse got some English players too (Jeffers, Wright, Sol) and each of them can even contribute in the England team in the future. I can see Wright as good as Dudek next season.

I say there are only ManU, who is above Arse in attaining high talent. Leeds pay high prices, but rarely get winners. Pool, as said gets Riise/Xavier.. Villa lures Angel. Derby Ravanelli. Ncastle scoops Bellamy..

Of course Spanish/Italian clubs splash more money than Arse. But there are not many bigger even in those countries.

I knew it from the start Wiltord was trouble and overpriced.
We´ll have to see how Arse plays without Henry - Bergamp/Pires have bailed us out before, but for how long..

Jere just changed the sublect when he was getting beat. Arsenal are NOT as big a club as Liverpool. Lets look at it using your terms.

1) Dudek - had been in negotiation with us for two months.
2) Kluivert saw the light and KB'd you last summer.
3) In the modern game you cant possibly be considered as big a club as us. Ok, one title but little else. European success.
4) Hyypia - unknown before Liverpool
5) Riise unknown before Liverpool
6) Dudek unknown before Liverpool
7) Hamman, didnt realise his potential before Liverpool.
8) Baros, WILL be a quality player.
9) Pollong and La Tallac - two 17 year olds rated 2 and 7 in the world for U-19 players.
10) Fowler, lost himself, wouldnt sign a contract
11) Dito Maca.
12) Anelka/petit/overmars didnt stay long did they?
13) Litmanen- not a high wage player.

Thats actually not true, the likes of Berghamp, Henry, Overmars, Pires, Wiltord etc were all big names when Arsenal signed them and its well known who Kluivert wanted to join in the summer of 98 - Arsenal. Now yeah Liverpool have signed Hypia and Dudek who are class but they were more in the unknown bracket and Arsenal have had a few of them over the years ant they (vieira, petit, anelka, stephanovs :wink )

Well, I haven´t seen Kirkland win a game at Villa Park + save the penalty!!! I´m not a Seaman fan, but he´s winning my heart with these performances..

And this "Anelka/petit/overmars didnt stay long did they?": I think each one of them made a BIG mistake by leaving.. they peaked at Highbury - because Arse brings the best out of a player. But all stayed long enough to revive their careers (only to lose them after leaving).
