I never even realised there was a book!

On many occasions the book is always better than the movie anyway, so if the movie was good i expect the book to be great.

Apparently the book of "21" with those asian kids that played blackjack, is much better than the film with the white kids that play blackjack.

There are two actually I think. If you like the movie though, then you'll like the book which is the actual real story and not the Hollywood version.

Yeah, but most people know that. Its a movie ffs.

Baer and Braddock weren't brutal enemies like the film made out, and if you watch the actual fight they are actual quite sporting with each other, even hugging at the end, (although Baer did low blow him).

Baer also gave a bit of money to the family of the fighter he killed, and would cry himself to sleep because of it. Add to the fact he wore a star of david vs Schmeling, yeah he wasn't all bad, he was an entertainer, and most people concur if he actually took the Braddock fight seriously that he'd have won.
