Edgar Davids won’t be leaving Juventus to join a Premiership club according to
the Italian giants.
The Dutch ace has been linked with a £10m move to Chelsea but President Vittorio
Chiusano insists the midfielder is untouchable.
"Davids is a fundamental player in our team and it would be a massive mistake to
lose him," he told ‘TeleLombardia.’
"He is a great player but there is no truth in the rumours that are currently
circulating in the media.
"Davids is a Juventus player. He is with us now, he will stay with us for next
season and we are happy to have him."
Speculation of Davids’ proposed move increased this week when he hinted that his
future could lie in England.
"There are two or three big English clubs that interest me but now I have
another contracted season with Juventus," he revealed. "In a year, I'll
seriously think about the Premiership."
However, there is the chance that Davids made that claim in a bid to help
persuade the Turin giants to offer him a new contract on his terms.
The two parties are in the middle of contract talks where if no agreement is
reached, the former Milan man could leave the Delle Alpi next summer on a free
transfer.
