I think Leeds have more chance of catching Newcastle than Chelsea.
Our suspensions are just about over, some players are getting fit again, and we have the easiest fixtures of any of the top 6.

The next results in the Premiership are gonna be crucial. We can either pull away from Chelsea, or they could get very close, too close for comfart in fact.
Why o why did Bellamy get injured :no

Ncastle is far ahead, but from Chelsea/Leeds I must say Chelsea..
..I donīt know why, but they seem more consistent. Although consistency has never been Chelseaīs strength. The next game will tell much of which direction Leeds/Ncastle will go..

Newcastle but I still think we can finish higher than 4th as we should finish the season on 82 points.

You touched it, CONSISTENCY !!!! You can never forecast next show of Chelsea, so, not Chelsea.

I do think the four team will include us. Can`t see Leeds / Chelsea catching now. Both will slip up again before the end of the season, even if we do once or twice as well as them, we should still get 4th. I actually think we could still do better than that though. Just not the title :)

what are the relevant run iuns?

Mar 11 2002, 04:07 PM
Apart from playing the scum we have got a piss easy run-in, players are back from suspensions, and after our win last week things are on the up, heres our remaining games and my prediction of the results
Mar 17 - Leeds Utd v Blackburn R Win
Mar 23 - Leicester C v Leeds Utd Win
Mar 30 - Leeds Utd v Manchester Utd Lose
Apr 1 - Tottenham H v Leeds Utd Win
Apr 7 - Leeds Utd v Sunderland Win
Apr 13 - Aston Villa v Leeds Utd Win
Apr 20 - Leeds Utd v Fulham Win
Apr 27 - Derby County v Leeds Utd Win
May 11 - Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Win
Dont know about newc n chelsea's last games, but ours are the easiest im sure and newcastle havnt really hit a bad patch yet, but it will happen, and chelsea have no consistencyso will only win half of their games at best, so after all thay drivel i reckon Leeds could just make it.

We have an even easier one as the club in the highest position left to play is Villa away.
Ipswich (h)
Everton (h)
Aston Villa (a)
Fulham (h)
Derby (a)
Charlton (h)
Blackburn (a)
West Ham (h)
Southampton (a)
So not only do we play 9 games which we should win but we also play 5 at home :)

chelsea getting closer but we got liverpool next weekend and we never win there

After the weekend I must say Ncastleīs form is diving bad.
Hope they are not the Titanic.
Still I can not see Leeds (even after the good result) coming out on top. So it must be Chelsea :X or Ncastle. Chelsea can make a run of unbeaten (wins?) matches if they stay focused. Leeds can not.
Stay afloat Magpies! :laugh

ID LIKE TO SEE NEWCASTLE!! BUT I THINK CHELSEA WOULD BE BETTER FOR ENGLAND AS THEIR PLAYERS WOULD BE MORE SUITED!!

What makes you say Leeds can't stay focused and put a run together?
Don't forget Leeds went unbeaten for 12 games at the start of the season, and lost only one of the first 17. It was only the injuries and suspensions which brought and end to that run. With a settled team Leeds can stay focused and put a good run together.

Dunno.
Just a gut feeling.
I also have a gut feeling that Arse will beat Ncastle at Highbury (FA Cup).

Chelsea is hitting some good form and Leeds appear to have turned their corner. However, I think its up to us if we want that 4th spot. We should be able to keep it if we play better than we did at the w/e. I think that result may have given the club a kick up the backside.

Exactly Deseilly,Zola,Hasselbaink etc all are very suited to the continint side of the game where i think Newcastle would be a little in-experienced!! I prefer Newcastle cos of Bobby and im a massive Kieron Dyer fan!! Sorry but Chelsea would be better!!

Might sound like moaning to you, but I was stating that it was only when we had so many injuries (11 outfield players unavailable, out of a first team squad of 23), that our good run came to an end. Now most are back results are picking up.
Not moaning, just stating facts.

The whole of Newcastle's first team squad (best 11) have played International football or European football or both.
Bobby Robson - Managed all over Europe including International level
Given - UEFA Cup, Champions League, International football
Distin - UEFA Cup, France
Dabizas - Champions League, UEFA Cup, Greek International
O'Brien - Intertoto, Irish International
Hughes - Northern Irish International, UEFA Cup, Champions League (his debut was against Barca)
Robert - French International, UEFA Cup, maybe Champions League
Acuna - Chilean international, UEFA Cup, Champions League
(probably pick Speed) - Welsh interntional, UEFA Cup, Champions League
Dyer - UEFA Cup, England International
Nobby - Peruvian International, Champions League, UEFA Cup
Bellamy - Welsh International
Shearer - Don't think I need to list his experience
Add to this Bassedass, Griffin, Emerton (when he signs)Lua Lua, Harper, Marcelino, S Caldwell who have all played international or top level European football and you will see we are pretty well prepared.

It's newcastles to throw away. However, chelsea looked ok on sunday. Their weak links are Melchiot and Babayaro. Both poor and not comfortable under pressure. If newcastle lose fouth place then they should have serious thoughts about squad strengthening.
Leeds fans please stop moaning. The suspensions were your own faults. You cant blame your poor run on that especially after the money o'leary has spent. Should have bought some quality squad players. As for injuries, well i suppose you make you own luck and leeds dont seem to be doing that.

If Leeds were Arse they would (on the injuries&suspensions):
1) keep on moaning about suspensions
2) keep on whining about refs
3) keep on playing
4) keep on winning
5) keep on getting new injuries&suspension
6) win

Unpredictable. Both are on good runs. Man Utd could have a say in that little battle = both play us soon.
