Catalonia will meet Iraq in a friendly to be played at the Camp Nou at 9.30 pm on 25th June.


The event confirms Camp Nou as the ideal venue for matches played by the Catalan national squad. Lithuania, Brazil, Chile and China have all played here. The match against Brazil, which took place during the run up to the Japan-Korea World Cup, holds the record for the most spectators, 96,700.

On Saturday 22nd FC Barcelona will play the last league match against Celta so the Catalonia v Iraq friendly will bring the curtain down on the season. Catalonia, managed by former Barca striker Àngel "Pichi" Alonso, will be the first team to play Iraq since the war.
