Probably the wrong forum, but any ideas and I'll move it.

If you could have a maximum of 2 teams from each European League... who would you have in your fantasy league of 20 teams and why?

^From Egland it has to be Liverpool and then United. They have the most history n the competition and are "bigger clubs" regardless of who's better ATM.

well i was thinkingthe fact we are better at the moment is the relevant part. just like the champions league...you want the best teams? doesnt matter how good they were? we are the firtst team in this league if you were to finalise it now....and pool would not be in it. they suck.

Probably the most biased post that I've seen on here.

I was thinking the most honest as soon as they are the best two teams in England at the moment not just talking the premiership. Both teams are still in all 4 competitions Arsenal most likely to win the premiership and Chelsea favourites to win both the carling cup and fa cup. And maybe even the champions league with a bit of luck.

Man Utd are favourites for the FA Cup followed by Arsenal then Chelsea. You are favourite to win the Carling Cup though as you play a strong team every game.

Barca are favourites for the CL, then us followed by yourselves.

Oh, we're also still favourites to win the league.

OK. On current form all over the season in terms of games we arethe better team. And we are current champions. Right now Arsenal and Manchester United are the best two teams ATM. Manchester United and Liverpool are the best team in hisotry of English football.

So recently, we have won the league and got to the semis of the CL. We haeve played better than you this season regardless of competitions and there is no denying we are a bigger club than Chelsea.

You can get a whole bunch of different teams in there depending on your personal criteria -- whether it be domestic performance, European performance, history and/or bigness of the club, plain old bias, etc ... of course, it's a fantasy list, so it'll probably be a mish-mash of all the above ...

Don't think top 2 is a fair reflection for every league. the way Eufa have it right now, is probably as good as it get's.

Only thing that could be different is have 3 leagues of 12, with promotion & relegation.

Eufa division 1, 2, 3.

That would be cool, and would probably be a better way of showing the best team in Europe.

I dont agree. The CURRENT state of the team counts more than past honours.. Marseille? Have a look at the league table, they are close to bottom.

In my list I also emphasize the "football" and the way its played. I only took 16 because that is enough. The current CL has too many teams and thus a good league doesnt necessary have 20 teams.

Heh, not too different from the AFL then (Aussie-rules footy) ... doesn't matter if you finish top of the table at the end of the home-and-away season, you have to go through the finals and win the grand final to be premiers. Liverpool would kill that system :laugh

They have won s** in decades, but still they have lot of money. But these days Lyon has money too and has the good organization. PSG only has money and failure. They can be called "big" because with the money they can attract some best French players there (Rothen, Landreau latest)..

so all you have to do is look atr who finished 1st & 2nd last season, and u have your answer.

actually the question was to choose 2 teams from each league, they dont have to be the best teams or best leagues. Some people choose the best teams, but others choose with different criteria

I find it fvcking hillarious that so many people are choosing Milan who are currently laying 12th place in the Serie A, and even if they win all of their games in hand (they have played a few less than everyone) they could be no higher than 7th.

If you were choosing the best team in Serie A it would have to come from Inter, Roma ... or to a lesser extent Juve or Fiorentina. Milan would be NOWHERE in the equation.

Its just a laugh Todd, maybe Milan are a lot of peoples favourite Italian team hence their inclusion in a lot of lists.
