the FA has been slammed for scrapping the development of the youth football centre in Burton, how big an impact could this of had?
and out of interest, was the idea for it to operate similar to the Clairefontaine one in france??

Dumping Burton to spend more on Wembley was a HUGE mistake.
One that they will hopefully somewhat correct now.

What would the promising youngsters do at Burton that they don't currently do at the academies our clubs have now?

That is the great attitude that has gotten you so many young English talents these past years... Ohh wait..

Allow the best young players in the country to train with the best coaches in the best facilities. Well thats the idea anyway.

What attitude? I was asking a fucking question!

Well don't they already do that at United,Arsenal,Middlesbrough,West Ham etc?
I don't see the need to spend about 100 million quid on this place in Burton when the academies that our clubs have are very good,a promising 12 or 13 year old will turn out the same way if he's coached at Burton than he would if he was coached at United,Boro,Chelsea etc. IMO

It is different to train with the best ENGLISH players in the same place than in an academy where there is lots of foreign kids and dead wood.
If Burton is done properly, there's no way there could be better coaches elsewhere cos thats all the point of having such a place.
Its about excellence, improving techniques, trying new things and building understanding between players but also team spirit.
If you start doing that at -15 level, then theres a better chance England Seniors will be able to put 2 pass together.
Ruud, it's not that hard to figure it out.. :laugh
I find it laughable all these foreigners trolling the ENGLISH NT forum, looking for comments that could possibly be viewed either directly, or indirectly as arrogant or ignorant.
I think they're supposed to all accept England aren't very good and that everything from the play mentality to the kit man has to change.
Oh no you didn't.
If you include me Ros, I only criticize England when needed, not TROLL. I'd rather do that in the German forum so it doesn't bother you guys ;)
Honestly though, this is better because it will open the fans and media's eyes as well as getting a MUCH better manager. Also, things already started to change since they are making facilities to nurture young players. Things have all went for the good so far (right after the defeat from Croatia I mean, not before).
