I always start with Ipswich, and always end up at the bottom before to long.
What team should I be to stand a fair chance of doing well.
BTW I'm playing 2000-01

If its last seasons and I assume you don't want a club like United or Arsenal then Id say West Ham or Spurs, they both have a few mint yoing players and there in the premiership but need work on them.

As for the new game, I can't really say yet because Im still crap at it

In PL, if you want win something immediately, of course you should start with MU although you will find you certainly not Fergie. :) :) I meanl, in CM there for sure have lucky year to different team.

CM01-02 for example, Chelsea will more likely win PL in the first year, and the next few years, Newcastle and Tottham will become more and more stronger than it is in real life. AND, you can never ignore Liverpool and Arsenal.

Can you image MU's relegation???? It's sure in CM. You know who lead them back ????? Gary Nevill :) :)

I like to start in a hopeless job (i.e: Coventry, QPR, Bristol Rovers). It's more of a challenge. They'll tolerate a slow start and it's very easy to surpass their objectives. The board expectations in my first season at QPR was "improve club squad" (namely, get sent down but try looking good while doing it), and I ended up winning the D1 title and made it to the FA Cup final.

i like being Rushden and Diamonds, they in the third division and have quite alot of transfer funds, or else try Boston Utd in the Conference.!
And if you wanna be a good club, but have a challenge try bein barca, depo or valencia, or maybe inter, roma or milan

Roma are the easiest to start with. Awesome squad apart from need a top class CB in my eyes.
