Even though it was a large score I wasn't impressed at times..especially Quaresma but he picked it up later in the game.

Good confident boost for our game with Chelsea, and in the league we have 9 goals in the last 2 games. None from Postiga..wow he hasn't scored a goal in the new year..

I didn't watch the game,not all of it I was way to disgusted to watch the full game. Pepe is crap,and the whole Porto team were acting cocky from winning by a large margain so everyone starts to attack :rolleyes:. Pepe knows he can't attack worth crap, so he does what he can do,and thats dive in the box which you labled"fell down",open your eyes idiot Eduardo didn't even touch him,Pepe actually touched him while diving to the ground.

Secondly, there was contact on Pepe, look at his feet, the keeper touches him. It was what everyone does in those situations, dive and hope for contact. Don't be so naive, benfica have done it countless times too.

Thirdly, only the 2nd goal was irregular, and that was marginal. Lisandro was just ahead of the line of the ball, and so was offside. However, it was such a fast play, and he was offside by a few centimetres really.

Lastly, Pepe crap? Yeah sure. Come back to us when you aren't so biased.

We played badly for large parts of the game, the midfield again simply didn't work until late in the game, when there was lots of space.

We got the job done, and Beira Mar crumbled at the end. Braga will be a different story, and we may well struggle...


Ratings:

Helton-2.5 Very shaky at the beginning, too many mistakes, but improved 2nd half.
Bosingwa-3 Decent, but if he could cross consistently would be a much better RB.
Pepe-4.5 MOM. Flawless defensively, and effectively made 2 goals.
B.Alves-3.5 Solid performance, makes some silly fouls at times, but good performance.
Cech-3/3.5 His end ball can be lacking, had a good game, but can't cross very well. Defended superbly.
Assuncao-3.5 Did his job well.
Lucho-3/3.5 Very very quiet. Hasn't been his usual self for a game or 2. But scored, and didn't do much wrong.
Meireles-3/3.5 Scored, and played well. Particularly at the end. However, this midfield with 3 similar players simply doesn't work well IMO.
Quaresma-2.5/3 Had some good moments, had a huge hand in the first goal, but didn't look anywhere near his best for large parts, improved towards the end.
Lisandro-3.5 Always a threat, took the 1st goal well, and set up the 2nd beautifully. Looked slightly tired today.
Postiga-2. In very poor form.

Subs:

Adriano-3.5 Held the ball up well, fought well to assist Alan, and did well to set up the penalty he scored.
Alan-3.5 Came into the game well, and scored a great goal, and opened up play well.
Renteria-2 Did some skills, had little chance to do much else.

Yah, a bucket load of the goals came during the last quarter of the match.

It highlights one of the major differences between top teams and the rest:

Fitness, strength and ball movement. The more you chase, like the lesser teams do, the more you get tired. The team that moves the ball instead of the man always has the upper hand during the last part of the match.

I've been noticing quite a few teams lose a match during the last quarter of play.

But i'm jsut saying, it what i generally notice in the league.

Either the big teams get complacent, or the smaller teams just dissapear near the end after holding out the whole game.

Of course there are instances of teams who battle hard all the way through, and you always get a adrenline rush when your winning vs a big team that makes you last a little longer

the second goal was clearly offsides.(when Raul Meireles (i think?) passed it to Lisandro, he was in front of the ball).

the penalty was debatable. Pepe took a bit of a dive. yes Eduardo's knee did hit his foot but no need to take that dive. also the ref should've just let it go. Come on. 4-0 is enough. no need for any penalties. Beira-Mar needs midfield badly.

also, with the time Renteria was given he wasn't so bad. had a nice shot that almost swerved its way in.

Meireles' goal was a tad lucky. if it didn't hit bounce on the stub or whatever it was, it wouldn't have gone in.
