I have heard this 'rumour' this evening, seems to be a very strong rumour too. Not sure why exactly. Anybody heard anything else?

It's only a rumour so far, but apparently Le Guen told Bardsley he was to be dropped against Livorno in favour of Hutton and then in training he almost crippled Buffel after it.

To be honest he's a good player but unless we're getting him permanentley no matter how bad Hutton can get we should be trying to improve him or bring through/buy somone else.

Bardsley axed after boss bust-up

Phil Bardsley's time at Rangers could be over after a bust-up in training with manager Paul Le Guen.

The incident between the on-loan Manchester United right-back and the Rangers boss took place during a Tuesday training session.

And BBC Sport understands that Bardsley will not now be travelling with Rangers in the morning for their Uefa Cup tie with Livorno on Thursday.

Rangers insist that Bardsley has not been sent back to Old Trafford.

The Glasgow club were not making further comment, although more could be disclosed when the first-team squad leave for Italy on Wednesday morning.

Bardsley, who came through the United youth ranks, has made 17 appearances for the English Premiership club, mainly as a substitute.

However, the 21-year-old spent loan spells at Royal Antwerp and Burnley before being farmed out to Rangers in the summer.

He has made five appearances under Le Guen and on Saturday was part of the side humbled at home by Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premier League.

It now looks like he will lose his place at right-back to Alan Hutton for the Uefa Cup group tie against Livorno

Listened to Real radio, Alan Rough said he went through Buffel in a what was agreed to be a non contact training match. Le Guen went mad and dropped him only for this match, Bardsley is not going back to Utd yet.

PHIL BARDSLEY could have played his last game for Rangers after being axed from the squad for Italy.

The 21-year-old on-loan Manchester United defender stormed out of Murray Park after a dramatic bust-up with boss Paul Le Guen.

As Rangers flew out today for the Uefa Cup Group A opener against Livorno, Bardsley was thought to be back at Old Trafford having talks with Sir Alex Ferguson.

SportTimes can reveal details of the astonishing training fall-out yesterday.
Le Guen lined up two teams - one the starting XI to face Livorno, the other made up of the likely subs.

Bardsley, who played against Inverness on Saturday, was not in the first team. His place was taken by Alan Hutton in a back four with Julien Rodriguez, Karl Svensson and Stevie Smith.

When the bounce game started, Bardsley put in a very heavy tackle on Thomas Buffel which left the Belgian holding his knee.

Le Guen stopped the game, sent Bardsley to the dressing rooms, and told him he would not be travelling to Italy.

Later, the Englishman tried to approach Le Guen, but was told there would be no further discussion.

Bardsley then headed for Manchester to watch last night's tie with FC Copenhagen, and to mull over his future.

The full-back and winger Lee Martin arrived from United in August on a loan deal until Christmas.

He is the second right back to fall out with Le Guen, and could follow Fernando Ricksen out.

The training ground rammy was the last thing Le Guen needed as his problems
continue to mount.

Martin has failed to recover from a knee problem and will miss the Livorno game, as will Jeremy Clement, Chris Burke, Libor Sionko and the ineligible Sasa Papac.

SportTimes can also reveal that Dado Prso is struggling with his knee and. He travelled, but is likely to be on the bench.

From Rangers.co.uk

"PAUL LE GUEN has revealed that it's up to Phil Bardsley to prove he still has a future with Rangers.

Le Guen sent Bardsley off from the training field at Murray Park yesterday and decided not to bring him to Italy for tomorrow's UEFA Cup clash with Livorno.

The manager would not reveal exactly what happened to prompt his actions, but has insisted that these are decisions he is empowered to make.

However, he did say that he had not told Bardsley he was not playing in the Euro match.

Bardley was involved in a challenge with Thomas Buffel on the training pitch but is believed that this is not the reason for Bardsley's omission.

Le Guen said: "He is not selected for tomorrow's game and he has not travelled with the squad of 18 players.

"I decided to send him off from the training session, but he has not gone back to Manchester. He is still part of the squad.

"It was my decision. I am the boss. I do what I think is for the best and I felt in this case that the action I took was the right action.

"He can still future with Rangers but it depends on him."

Bardsley, on loan from Manchester United until the end of December, had played the last three matches for Rangers and is now expected to be replaced by Alan Hutton for tomorrow's game in the Armando Picchi Stadium.

Meanwhile Le Guen has confirmed that Lionel Letizi will keep his place in the side."

I wish he'd stop giving it all "It's my decision" stuff!

Henke gloating again, maybe if you concentrated on your own team we wouldn't think you're as sad a bastard as we already think you are.

I don't think Bardsleys furture at Rangers is over. Sounds like he got a bit too agressive in training and the last thing we need is more injured palyers. I don't think he'll be sent packing same way Ricksen was as they are two dif situations. I think it's all being blown way out out of proportion by the anti celtic, murray inspired media
