According to reports emanating from Spain and Portugal, FC Barcelona have almost managed to reach a three-way agreement between FC Porto number 10 Anderson Luis de Abreu Oliveira, his agent Jorge Mendes and the Dragões (FC Porto).

The Catalan football director Txiki Begiristain has being watching the new star from the same club as Ronaldinho Gaúcho (Brazil’s Grêmio de Porto Alegre) shine on the northern Portuguese stage and was convinced enough to greenlight the signing as a priority for next season.

Barça have moved in for the kill after it became known that the 18 year old prodigy was also being closely tracked by Chelsea and that Roman Abramovich was on the point of writing a blank cheque for José Mourinho. Milan, Inter, Valencia, Sevilla, Hamburg and Arsenal are all reportedly interested in Anderson.

It was really the presence of Chelsea’s Frank Arnessen at the CL match between Porto and CSKA Moscow that made Begiristain speed things up. He’d previously said that he was following both Anderson and Albiceleste midfielder Lucho González but no move ws being made to sign either player.

The next – and trickiest step – is to convince sulphurous Porto President Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa (PdC) to part with the young star. The exec seems to have wriggled free of 21 charges of corruption in the ‘Golden Whistle’ case in Portugal and is feeling particularly bullet-proof.

There’s also the recent transfer of Diego (ex-Santos) to Werder Bremen to take into account. Ex-Porto Coach Co Adriaanse alienated Diego so far that he left the club, meaning that FC Porto could be about to lose their second playmaking prodigy in a row if they sell Anderson.

FC Barcelona want to sign the player and then loan him out to FC Porto – i.e. he won’t move but the Portuguese club will be free of paying his salary and getting a large amount for the transfer. This is intended to ease the deal and let Anderson get more European experience.

Chelsea are understood to be back on the trail of Porto starlet Anderson - heralded as the 'New Ronaldinho'.

http://images.skysports.com/images/playerpics06_07/Portugal/anderson.jpg

The 18-year-old Brazilian is earning rave reviews following his move from Gremio and comparisons with Ronaldinho were already being made before he joined Porto - given that he also hails from the same city as the Samba superstar and he arrived in Europe on the back of starring for the same club side.

His emergence on the world scene came late last year when he starred at the Under-17 World championship - and despite Brazil not winning, Anderson was voted Player of the Tournament.

As we reported last summer, Chelsea were well aware of Anderson before he shone in Peru and they were in the running for his signature before Porto landed him last summer.

The player, who is reported to own half of his rights, did not actually join Porto until January this year as he wanted to help Gremio back to the top-flight in Brazil - which they did.

Because of the delay, Anderson played just a handful of games at the end of the Portugal season, but already he is being hailed as they best young South American player in a generation.

Chelsea's head of youth development Frank Arnesen personally took in Porto's midweek clash with CSKA Moscow to check on Anderson's progress.

Portuguese sources claim that Arnesen was clearly impressed with the young playmaker, who turned in a spectacular display - although Chelsea are by no means the only club showing an interest with Barcelona and Internazionale also thought to be keen.

The player himself has refused to comment on reports of Chelsea's renewed interest while Porto are aware that the scouts are arriving in their droves at The Estadio Do Dragao to check on their young asset.

I think it would be good for the player and both clubs if the transfer mooted in the first article comes to fruition- large transfer fee paid by Barca with the player being loaned to Porto for a couple of years.

That way he will develop properly, Porto will get the money AND the benefit of him still playing for you (rather than just one of those) and Barca win because he will be fully adjusted and ready for the next level by the time he goes there. If he went now he could end up as another Quaresma, Riquelme etc

I have read in many articles that Anderson owns half his own pass, but I believe this is untrue, I am quite sure we bought his whole pass in May.

Can anyone deny or confirm this?

Brazilian wonderkid Anderson has given Chelsea some hope they could still land his signature by stating he has not agreed a deal with Barcelona.

Chelsea's head of youth recruitment Frank Arnesen personally flew to Portugal earlier this week to check on Anderson play for Porto against CSKA Moscow.

The midfield gem did not disappoint with a majestic performance, but it would not have been a shock to Arnesen - whose scouting network already have an extensive dossier on Anderson stretching back over 18 months.

However, as Arnesen's presence at The Estadio do Dragao was confirmed - reports in Catalunya stated that Barca were comfortable in the knowledge they had already sealed a deal for the man widely described as the new Ronaldinho - mainly as he heralds from the same town and also began life with Gremio, as the World Player of the Year did.

Despite these claims - Anderson, who is understood to own part of his own contract, has denied that he has signed for any club and even admits Chelsea would be as tempting a move as Barca.

"Really at the moment I only want to be with Porto to help the team in the league and the Champions League, but it is normal that I think about my future," he told Sport TV1.

"Directly no director has spoken with me about a possible transfer but honestly I would be a liar if I said I did not want to play for one of the super-club's in Europe."

Anderson, 18, admitted that both Chelsea and Barcelona would be huge attractions.

"Porto is a great club, but any player would desire to be at Chelsea or Barca at anytime of his life," he added.

Chelsea are yet to comment on their interest in Anderson, but Barca's director of football Txiki Begiristain has confirmed their interest.

Begiristain, like Arnesen, was following Anderson in midweek - which led to the reports that he had successfully tied up a deal for a move possibly even as soon as next summer.

However, the former Spanish international insists a deal is not yet done.

"Nothing is done, at the moment we like him," he told Sport.

"A decision is still not taken, what we must do is continue maintaining a good relationship with the player."

I know everyone wants to play for a big club, but this is a nice attitude, not even in the club for a year and he already wants out, but says a few nice words first by saying he want to help Porto...come on....if you don't want to play for Porto for more than four years then for me just go.....

Porto president Pinto da Costa has warned Chelsea and Barcelona that the Portuguese outfit have no interest in discussing the possible sale of Brazilian wonderkid Anderson.

The 18-year-old has been trailed by both the English and Spanish champions as his impressive displays for Porto continue to suggest he could live up to his tag of 'the new Ronaldinho'.

With The Blues dispatching head of youth recruitment Frank Arnesen to watch the former Gremio starlet in action against CSKA Moscow, and Barca director of football Txiki Beguiristain admitting the UEFA Champions League winners' interest, speculation has been rife that the two giants could compete for the schemer's signature.

Anderson has even fanned the flames by admitting himself that he would be tempted by a move to either Stamford Bridge or Camp Nou, and recent reports suggest that it is the Catalans, who currently possess World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, who lead the race for the Samba starlet.

However, da Costa has vehemently denied entertaining the prospect of selling Anderson, stating in the process that the vastly-gifted youngster will remain part of the furniture at Estadio do Dragao.

"I am happy because they speak of our players, even though there is no foundation," da Costa told O Jogo.

"It does not have the minimum of foundation.

"We are not negotiating, neither are we interested in negotiating about Anderson or any another player.

"I remain happy and do not worry myself that they continue to speak."

we now own 80% of anderson
