Dado Prso has announced his retirement from international football in order to concentrate on playing for Rangers.

Before this summer's World Cup finals, the 32-year-old striker hinted that it may be his final appearance with Croatia and this has been confirmed.

The former Monaco hitman believed the strain of playing both domestic and international football was getting too much and will now fully focus on being part of Paul Le Guen's revolution at Ibrox.

Croatian FA President Vlatko Markovic regrettably accepted Prso's wish and said: "Dado has been one of the best players Croatia have had over the past few years.

"But the strain of playing in four tournaments - the Scottish league, the Scottish Cup, Europe and internationals - would have proved too much for him.

"Something had to go and he chose to give up playing for Croatia."
Look out for an exclusive interview with Dado Prso next week.

Well the way he was used during the World Cup I'm glad he's given up. Lets hope it means he can put in 2 or 3 more good years in for us.

Im happy to hear this news, his ongoing knee problem would have been his decision to retire i would think. Less games he plays the better he is getting to that age when injurys are easier to come by and take longer and harder to repair. We definately need the big man fighting fit as much as possible he brings alot of different options to the team. As bully said hopefully we get another good couple years out him.

Definately a late bloomer Nk Pazinka if i remember right is the team your talking about ? then he moved over to France where he played for FC Rouen then signed for San Raphel lower french divison team where he got picked up by Monaco (1996) then he was loaned out to Ac Ajaccio for two years and impressed and returned to Monaco this is when his professional career started to take shape then the season of 2003/2004 he made his name.
