Rangers boss Paul Le Guen has not given up hope of signing Jeremy Clement from Lyon as he seeks to add more faces to his new-look Ibrox squad.
The Frenchman has already recruited former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Lionel Letizi and youngsters William Stanger, Antoine Ponroy and Dean Furman.
Other new signings, Czech Republic's Libor Sionko and Sweden's Karl Svensson, are still at the World Cup.
And although mindful of the financial restrictions placed upon him by chairman David Murray, the new Ibrox boss admits he wants to add to his squad further by returning to his former club Lyon for 21-year-old midfielder Clement.
He said: "It will be difficult because he is too expensive for us but we will see. He is a good player and I know him very well.
"I spoke with him and he wants to come but Lyon don't want to lose him.
"But with the World Cup on we have time to discuss things.
"We began well by finding Letizi, Sionko and Svensson and we will try to do the same thing over the following weeks.
"But we don't have a lot of money - so we will try to be crafty
