Played a bit of footy with a mate the other day, went in goal for the first time in ages. It is amazing how fun it can be at times, jumping around like a prat and calling "KEEEEEPAAAAAS!" at every opportunity.
I was always a bit of a "dodgy keepa" when I played in goal, I've done plenty of Jerzy Dudek's. Played there for a bit then got bored and played in defence, then midfield...
Anyways were any of you goalies in your time and who would you compare yourselves to? Apart from Norman Wisdom with gloves, I mean.

PLayed in goal for my club, always good fun, any goalkeeper will tell ya its great because you get credit for doing all these "reaction" saves when really you're just protecting yourself and the ball hits you more than once.
Alot easier than you think :)

Keeper a couple of times, very daring one. Always loved to come outside the area to clear and loved making the most simple saves look brilliant. Also made some clangers when someone took the ball straight from my feet to have a easy tap in. :crying

Used to play as a goalie. Finished since I had my balls hit with a ball.

Don`t know who `d I compare myself to?

I was the keeper for my school team in primary school, but it didn't last long. I was pretty good (for a 9 yr old) but one day I dived, went wrong, and went straight into the post shoulder first, before landing very badly. Done my shoulder in, and since then only had the confidence to dive into water.
Don't think it would have lasted that long anyway, beside, I'm now a better centre mid/back, so no real harm done!!
