German National Coach Jürgen Klinsmann hopes for the return of Philipp Lahm. After his operation at the ellbow his run-out ist still not sure. In spite of his substitution against Japan on Tuesday Christoph Metzelder's appearance is not endangered.

I'd rather see Schneider at RB than Friedrich. Schneider has a lot of talent and hits very accurate long passes, but he doesn't have the foot speed to create room to hit those passes from the midfield.

I have to say this is the first time i see in a long time germany playing that well, they "calmed down" in das second half but the first half was a pretty good one, could have been 4-0 :dk

I saw most of the match. Here is my review:
- Lehmann. I'm worried with him...made at least 2 mistakes which could have costed us 2 goals...
- Friedrich. In short. Should not be in starting 11.
- Lahm. Not yet top fit but solid as always. Combined great with Schweini.
- Metzelder. Pretty good. He's getting better.
- Mertesacker. Slow as always...
- Frings. Good game. He should start as DM if it's a easy oponent.
- Schneider. Great game from him. He may not be at his best but is still the best technical german player. Had a wonderful shot blocked by the gk.
- Schweini. Excellent. Very very dangerous. Magath was stupid too not include him in starting 11 and play Ze ******* Roberto!!! Great gool. I have high hopes on him.
- Ballack. Our most important player as always. Scored the opener. Had a penalty denied by the referee. Very very solid.
- Klose. As I said before he's pretty good but not world class. Still he should score a couple of goals in the group stage.
- Podolski. Solid game. Although he didn't score he was dangerous and I think he'll lead the attack after the group stage.

Reserves
- Borowski. He should start. Very active...scored the third goal.
- Neuville. Very good joker. Dangerous.
- Jansen. Didn't play much but looked pretty good. Had a goal chance.
- Kehl. Solid in defence. He should start against strong opponents.
- Asamoah. Run as always but NOT effective.

After this game I'm almost sure the starting 11 against Costa Rica will be:

the only small complaint is that we do not score from open play enough.
A goal seems to come from a free kick or a Schneider crossball.

I think as Gerry said unless Frings gives 100% he is poor and he will give 100% in the wm.I am not worried about Friedrich-the defence looks better with him in it.

I've just seen the game :nod

It was a good for the confidence to win this last testgame :nod I thought the defense did a good job tonight. Lahm and Friedrich were solid and overall they seemed much more concentrated than against Japan. The whole team attacked earlier and won more tackles.

What i liked was that Ballack and Frings played almost side by side. Ballack today more defensive to help Frings and it worked good IMO. The defense was more connected with the midfield and more tackles were won in front of the defence to avoid dangerous situations. :nod

Can somebody tell me what happened to Schweinsteiger?! :laugh He's been on fire in the last 4 games. Also he was involved in the last 4 goals, he either assited or scored a goal himself. He was our most important player in the last games, with him in the offensive there's always danger in front of the goal :clap

Overall we could have won higher but 3-0 is a very good result to round off the training camp in Genevea. Of course this was AGAIN only a testgame and the opponent was not France or Italy, but it was good to get a positive feeligng for the WC. :nod

What a game by Schweinsteiger!!!! I like to see him dribble the ball; something that we really need in midfield....he also a goalscorer!!! His free kick was awesome!
Ballack was solid as ever, but somethimes the Colombian player made an unnecessary foul on him, poor Ballack!!!
Anyway, great game by Germany!!!!

i saw that too.. it's a mistake.. one that should not be repeated in WC.. u have to be sure of getting the ball if u ran out of your area..
